I have a 2015 tdi sportswagon which is my daily. I want to make more power while still being reliable, and not needing intercoolers and all that, plug and play for the special turbo noises and faster spool:}
So here are my ideas,
1. CR170 with stage 2 tune
2. gtd1456 turbo with custom tune and darkside chargepipe.

no

also no.

frankly, oilhammer is right. if you only want to go fast, and do "cheap" mods, get a GTI.
but these tdi's are expensive to make good reliable power.

if you want more info read through these threads:

TLDR if you want the "just trust me bro" is:
dont tune with anyone offering "stage" tunes for TDI's
buy a GTE2260, buy a CP3, do the exhaust, upgrade the IC.

that would get you a knock your socks off build. pop some injectors + headbolts in and you have a 300-330hp daily driveable reliable TDI.

Same here daily driver but wanted more power so I got both the engine and DSG trans tuned by KermaTDI. My Passat really scoots now and picked up a couple of miles to the gallon.

this is also a good point, kerma is a good option for those who want to remain emissions intact while getting a little bump in power.

but just know that with kerma, you will not be able to do an emissions delete in the future with them

CR190 is the only plug & play turbo. Reliability upgrade comes in heaps when certain components fall off the car as well.
Turbo won't sound any different unless you ditch the stock airbox, which is not necessary at all in the search for power. They still are fairly tame sounding IMO. The GTE2260 on the other hand, sounds like a supercharger is bolted to the engine. It's quite different, but also nowhere near plug and play.
