Waiting on my new Jetta TDI LE

My 2000 Passat finely gave me reason to buy another car. So I went to VW dealer and was planning on a sportswagon 2.5 S. Just a car to get me from here to there, but when I saw this White Gold Jetta TDI my world got turned upside down. It's funny ever since I was a kid car dealerships turn me into jelly. My wife wasn't helping matters contantly staring at the White Gold Jetta. So I talked myself into it. Not the one in the showroom because I'm not a fan of the sunroof, but one without called an LE model. They brought one up to show me, but it didn't have black interior. So we sat back down and looked to see if we could find one in the area. Well, the closest one was in CT. 180 miles away. At this point I was getting a little worried. A brand new car with 180 miles? I asked why not a flatbed and he told me not to worry they do it all the time. So I asked them to look around and find something closer or I would wait. He told me he'd look around after I gave him a deposit.
Would you take delivery on the car with 180? My wife says I'm being to cautious.

You're buying a new car, so you have to be comfortable. Remember, though, that these TDIs aren't broken in until >10K miles, some would say >20K or even greater than >30K. 180 miles isn't significant in the grand scheme.

I admire your patience in waiting.

I would not feel comfortable with that kind of mileage, especially with a deposit. By accident I got my car pretty much directly from VWoA.

The day I went to look at the New Jetta6, my car rolled off the truck to the lift to remove the blocks, then I test drove it! My test drive also included my cars first fuel up, which I did. :)

I knew it was meant to be and when I signed on the dotted line my TDI had 6 miles on it, 4 miles of which I logged. :D

Funny the managers at my dealership got the hint that I am protective of my cars too, when they preformed the recent recall the mileage was the same as it was when I dropped it off.

I agree with the post above, this is your hard earned paper, don't accept anything you are not comfortable with. Its your money your decision, you dont like the terms, walk. There are alot of dealers that will go out of their way to earn your business, especially in this economy.

Goodluck.

They've found one in RI so I've told them I'd take it. It has 15 miles as it sits and what ever miles it takes to get to Medford, Ma. Probably another 50 and I'll have it by the end of the week. I'm going to take a good look at it and then cross my fingers and hope for the best.
