I am waiting for the 2016 passat to come out I hope they fix the diesel emission because I am going back to a diesel

I wonder what the hold up is on the Mazda diesel?! I remember getting pumped in 2013 when I first read about them. Sounds like it's a winner!

They were having fuel dilution problems. Emission irregularities also plagued them and caused them to wait until everything was solved before introducing the car to N.A. I also was eagerly awaiting their diesel in the Mazda 6 as well as the GTD by VW. I ended up getting a '14 Chevy Cruze which I have not regretted so far.

Caused them to wait until everything WAS solved? Really? The reality of the situation is that to this day, Mazda doesn't have EPA certification for that engine, and the one overriding reason for that is that they haven't solved any of the emission irregularities. If they did, the engine would have been here long time ago.

Mazda has said they did not get the performance ("Zoom-Zoom") they wanted from the diesel when meeting the emissions requirements. The fuel dilution issue was in Australia about 4 years ago. You won't find any recent info on that because the problem was solved years ago in Australia.

I would stop waiting, buy a used one now while you can and before prices start inflating like they did during the last tdi drought. You may be waiting a very long time otherwise.
