The not so common question of using a vw tdi vs. a cummins:

VW 1.9L Diesel short block (produces 90 hp) vs. Cummins 60L Diesel Common-rail Injection Pump (needs 85 hp to run)

Engine block courtesy of Greengeeker. Injection pump courtesy of Cummins.

haha....and that pump felt heavier than the shortblock too.

CR owners: be happy you don't to replace this $25k HPFP when it fails. :D

True, but my guess is that $25k HPFP is part of something that is MAKING the owner money, not losing... :D

Haha. I have more horsepower/torque in 1 cylinder on my truck's ISB than my whole TDI motor has. :D
