you absolutely can do that.May be a stupid question, but is there any reason I can't put the $500 dealer card towards tires for my wife's toyota sienna?

That sucks big time man!New to these boards, but I think this is the best way to look for any help here. I'm one of the ones who got absolutely no notification about the goodwill package during its short 5 month span. While away at school I received no letters or information about this package being offered. Once I arrived home, I was asked by family members if i received the money. When I tried contacting vw over the phone about being able to receive the money I was repeatedly told that there was nothing I could do anymore. I really can't see how I'm in the wrong here, and I was hoping that there were others who could enlighten me with information on what I can do to to avoid being shammed. Thanks for any help
Edit: Just to add they told me that they posted a website and that "several news outlets" released this information. The only news article I saw during my time away was posted by NPR and it was something that wasn't finalized and spoke on VW buybacks/ 5k compensation..
It absolutely does. I'm noticing that the very same offer, but in canada, lasts until the end of may. That sucks big time man!
It does but I think that is because we started a month later than you guys down south.I'm noticing that the very same offer, but in canada, lasts until the end of may.
Well you have understand that this is an attorney and they live their lives screwing other people so he figures some one is going to screw him.I read an article today about a lawyer who owns a TDI but refused to take the goodwill because no matter what was said he believe VW would screw him cause he took it. My only question is, how do you live your life so paranoid that you done even take a free $1000?
The obvious way -and the only one I have read about- is to "sell" the card to someone who wants to spend money at a VW Dealer. There are two immediate caveats:I read somewhere that some people have had success in turning the $500 VW Dealer Card into cash somehow. I cant seem to find it. Any advice appreciated!
I am doing some home renos and could use the full $1,000.00.
I don't think you're "in the wrong," you just missed the boat. I have read about other people who didn't get any mailing, either. One guy said he wised someone up at a filling station where they were both getting fuel. Stuff happens, and I don't see that you've got any recourse here.<snip> I really can't see how I'm in the wrong here, <snip>
ill give you $250 VIA paypal.I have an unused and just activated $500 dealer card. I need cash. anyone want to buy? please message me

I used mine as partial downpayment on a new Subaru Outback for my wife. Dealership sold both Subarus and VWs.I wonder if it can be used as partial down payment on another vehicle? Even a non VW vehicle, but located on the VW lot?
I know I am late to the game, but...I know that is not true (at least for the VW card). I called in my order to the VW dealership and they took the VW specific card information over the phone without issue.I emailed an online Audi dealer and they told me they could not accept the TDI cards online because they had to physically run the card in the machine. Not sure if that is true or not. I'd love to find an online dealer to accept the card because my local dealer has horrible prices.

I signed up for goodwill package on 4/21. I chatted with VW, they tell me it was mailed on 4/28. It's June and I'm still waiting. I called VW again on 6/2, now they tell me they will resend it to me and I need to wait another 4 weeks. Not sure if anyone else is still waiting for their Goodwill Package, but in case anyone is lurking like I usually do, I wanted to post again about the delays for those of us who requested our package in late April. I contacted VW again today and they said that the packages have not actually shipped, and that there will be a continued, unspecified delay. I was told to contact them yet again on June 10th if I did not receive it. They will not be providing a tracking number.
I had been planning a trip to run some errands in DFW, and was hoping to combine the trip to activate the cards with that trip, since I don't live near a dealership.
