It is still a bloody rip off, $1000. canadian against $1000.US in my thought's when we had to pay a higher dollar for our car to start with against the same US model, and just where is the same money coming from but from VW. Todays bank in Canada if you buy US money is @.60, $800. US is $1400. Canadian, it ain't hard to figure who is getting ripped off.

I received my cards today and drove over two hour round trip to my nearest dealer, the service lady that activated them for me said she had about ten on Saturday, what I am confused about is there seems to be no PIN for the prepaid Visa, so how can I use it to pay at the pump etc? the paperwork that came with the cards states"You will receive a Personalized Identification Number(PIN)" but I can not figure out where it could be lol

So I registered on line and never received a confirmation E-Mail? I did get the confirmation numbers, but no E Mail.....Is this standard? The site said I should get an E Mail. I was going to call Customer Care but the hold time was Long so I hung up and figured I'd just wait. This was around 3 weeks ago.

got my cards today and activated them at Douglas VW.
I need a couple of new tires and called Douglas VW to see if they'd price match an STS Tire quote so I can use my dealer gift card. They told me they will, then added that as a sorry for my car, Golf 2011, I'll get 20% of all services, free oil changes and tire rotations (10k intervals) now and throughout 2016.

I bought my car new from them and with a 130k miles on the car, I can't say enough nice things about them.

After doing some reading on the included paperwork I found "To purchase gasoline, your transaction must be processed inside the fuel station and not at automated pumps." so that answered that question

Just an FYI: I moved over 450 gift card posts from the scandal thread to the gift card thread. That's why the page/post count numbers took such a huge jump.

Thank you.

My dealer is a unitronic tuner I am hoping I can use the cash for a stage 1 tune there.

If that's not possible, I will be the nutter who springs for the spare-tire-replacing sound system!!!

My friend that signed up the day after I did got his cards today, and I still have nothing, I'm thinking they just drew names out of a hat to decide who's got mailed first. I have been patient till now, but starting to get pissed!

And that would be fine by me. I was never "spitting" mad over the issue anyhow. I'm just thrilled that I got my $1000 gift in today's mail. I won't be standing around with my hand out expecting more. I will just continue to enjoy driving my great car. :)
Not really "spitting mad" about the issue because it doesn't effect me. What really bothers me is that I planned on getting a 2nd year EA288 car and now the future of anything TDI from VW is pretty murky. Obviously, this current scandel could drive VW out of business.

Mine will pay for the DSG service . I expect the fix will be interesting. Can't wait to see how they fix the non Ad blue cars. HA

It could very well work to your benefit. By the time they get the ok to sell the '16 tdi's, they'll probably be offering some great deals to move the inventory. I don't think VW going out of business from this is even remotely likely.

450....wow. I really feel sorry for the mods with this whole dieselgate thing going on. I know it hasn't been easy.

FYI....I stopped by the dealer last night to activate my package. It took only about 15 mins.

I got my goodwill package 12/12, applied 11/10. Went to the dealer on Saturday afternoon and in 10 minutes was on my way with the cards authorized and 36 months of roadside assistance. I'm not sure many have been turned in to this dealer, I had the highest mileage so far(228k) on a 2009 Jetta.
Ha I just saw that we are practically neighbors. Did you go to Bachrodt, Boucher or another dealer?

Going to activate my cards tonight at Bachrodt.

My 14' only has 19k miles on it, I think the people that have (older) high mileage TDIs definitely come out ahead with the extra road side assistance and $1000. Also my parents have a 15' Passat TDI with 8k miles (got it July 15')

Check around your area to see which dealerships have a $100 off coupon for service (i.e. 40k, 80k, and 120k TDI service) and/or a $100 incentive if you spend the VW card with them. I found a couple dealerships that do this.

...

oh, and thanks to a local gas-rewards card, we paid $1.57/gal for our fill-up yesterday - about $0.03 a mile for fuel!

Got ya beat :p. Using my Fred Meyer (Kroger) fuel points, I have a Shell station near me that doubles the discount. So, $2 off per gallon, I've paid $0.69 per gallon my last few fillups! Woo hoo!

My package for the Jetta came yesterday. I'm going to see if one of my local dealerships has a body shop, as the Jetta needs a little work. My daughter had a problem in our hospital's parking garage. Seems the corners were a little too tight and she kissed one. Did the same thing in the Routan. She isn't allowed to park in that garage anymore. :)

Has anyone been able to successfully use the dealership card online? With a VW dealership that has a website that is?

Does anyone have a list of dealerships that allow you to place orders for parts and drive gear online?

I am grateful for the goodwill program and will promptly buy a $500 Amazon gift card with the Visa.

In terms of the VW-only card, I'm really stumped with what to do with it. The service on my '15 Golf TDI S is prepaid long through 11/16 and I won't need tires or brakes that soon. I've been through the entire accessory catalog and need nothing. None of the apparel interests me.

May be a stupid question. My cousin has a '07 Jetta. Can I pay for her service with my Goodwill VW card?

I posted last week where to find the PIN:
A note for those who aren't in the habit of reading the fine print:
Located on the back of the booklet that contains your cards, paragraph #5, is your PIN number for the Visa Loyalty card....if you ever need it for a transaction. For most transactions, you can just select "Credit" and sign the receipt.

You should be able to, if you ask nicely I'm sure they can get just about anything you want for it as long as you pay for it there. They'll obviously tack on their mark up but its better than being "forced" to spend it on services or accessories you don't want. I plan on getting my dealer to order me a curt hitch and tires for my Tahoe

Anyone in the Greater DC area; Lindsay VW is offering an extra $100 if you use your VW credit at their dealership ($600 instead of $500).

An extra 20% VW credit certainly can't hurt.

Anyone know any other dealers doing a similar deal?
