Received mine today, woo!
I need a couple of new tires and called Douglas VW to see if they'd price match an STS Tire quote so I can use my dealer gift card. They told me they will, then added that as a sorry for my car, Golf 2011, I'll get 20% of all services, free oil changes and tire rotations (10k intervals) now and throughout 2016.got my cards today and activated them at Douglas VW.
After doing some reading on the included paperwork I found "To purchase gasoline, your transaction must be processed inside the fuel station and not at automated pumps." so that answered that questionI received my cards today and drove over two hour round trip to my nearest dealer, the service lady that activated them for me said she had about ten on Saturday, what I am confused about is there seems to be no PIN for the prepaid Visa, so how can I use it to pay at the pump etc? the paperwork that came with the cards states"You will receive a Personalized Identification Number(PIN)" but I can not figure out where it could be lol
Make sure you check your spam box.So I registered on line and never received a confirmation E-Mail? I did get the confirmation numbers, but no E Mail.....Is this standard? The site said I should get an E Mail. I was going to call Customer Care but the hold time was Long so I hung up and figured I'd just wait. This was around 3 weeks ago.
Not really "spitting mad" about the issue because it doesn't effect me. What really bothers me is that I planned on getting a 2nd year EA288 car and now the future of anything TDI from VW is pretty murky. Obviously, this current scandel could drive VW out of business. And that would be fine by me. I was never "spitting" mad over the issue anyhow. I'm just thrilled that I got my $1000 gift in today's mail. I won't be standing around with my hand out expecting more. I will just continue to enjoy driving my great car.![]()
It could very well work to your benefit. By the time they get the ok to sell the '16 tdi's, they'll probably be offering some great deals to move the inventory. I don't think VW going out of business from this is even remotely likely. Not really "spitting mad" about the issue because it doesn't effect me. 450....wow. I really feel sorry for the mods with this whole dieselgate thing going on. I know it hasn't been easy.Just an FYI: I moved over 450 gift card posts from the scandal thread to the gift card thread. That's why the page/post count numbers took such a huge jump.
Thank you.

Ha I just saw that we are practically neighbors. Did you go to Bachrodt, Boucher or another dealer?I got my goodwill package 12/12, applied 11/10. Went to the dealer on Saturday afternoon and in 10 minutes was on my way with the cards authorized and 36 months of roadside assistance. I'm not sure many have been turned in to this dealer, I had the highest mileage so far(228k) on a 2009 Jetta.
Got ya beat...
oh, and thanks to a local gas-rewards card, we paid $1.57/gal for our fill-up yesterday - about $0.03 a mile for fuel!

I posted last week where to find the PIN:I received my cards today and drove over two hour round trip to my nearest dealer, the service lady that activated them for me said she had about ten on Saturday, what I am confused about is there seems to be no PIN for the prepaid Visa, so how can I use it to pay at the pump etc? the paperwork that came with the cards states"You will receive a Personalized Identification Number(PIN)" but I can not figure out where it could be lol
A note for those who aren't in the habit of reading the fine print:
Located on the back of the booklet that contains your cards, paragraph #5, is your PIN number for the Visa Loyalty card....if you ever need it for a transaction. For most transactions, you can just select "Credit" and sign the receipt.
Registered on 11/9. Received on 12/14.
I am grateful for the goodwill program and will promptly buy a $500 Amazon gift card with the Visa.
In terms of the VW-only card, I'm really stumped with what to do with it. The service on my '15 Golf TDI S is prepaid long through 11/16 and I won't need tires or brakes that soon. I've been through the entire accessory catalog and need nothing. None of the apparel interests me.
May be a stupid question. My cousin has a '07 Jetta. Can I pay for her service with my Goodwill VW card?
