Called VW Care today just to confirm. Registration on Nov 9th. She said cards were ordered on Nov 10th. Mine was in a batch that was mailed on Dec 7th.
According to the instructions in the GW pack I received, it states that the VW card can be used at any dealership. Nothing suggested that I was tied to the activating dealer. Won't know for sure till I ask them, though.Once you go to the dealer and activate them can you then use the dealer money at any VW dealer? I was wondering if we could use them at one of the wholesale VW dealer parts place.
VW funds the cards, but another financial organization processes the cards and mails them to the consumers. The financial organization may charge nothing for this and may just depend on being able to keep unspent funds. That is why there is a time limit. Why, is the VW credit time limited as in I need to use up my $500 in 12 months?
Nice try, here is why there is an expiration date: Its a Credit Card, they happen to require this, ever seen a credit card that did not expire? me neither.. I wonder how you would buy anything with a non expiring card, you cant buy stuff on credit by leaving mandatory payment fields blank.VW funds the cards, but another financial organization processes the cards and mails them to the consumers. The NPR piece yesterday was the first time I saw this mentioned. I saw it thrown out and attributed to Mueller on another website today. There were no further details in the other article.Has any one seen this? Seems a bit vague and maybe just rumor but apparently VW announced somewhere that they will be compensating diesel owners for the decrease in value of their vehicles? Must have announced it internally because this is the only article I can find.

Geez...I haven't visited here for a couple weeks. I had NO IDEA HOW ANGRY I SHOULD BE at VWoA. I've wasted 4+weeks of calm indifference toward VWoA when I could have been ANGRY!
It's 10:30pm, full day of work, I'm exhausted, and NOW I'm ANGRY enough that I won't be able to sleep.
I just checked my confirmation code (20151109-xxxx) and it says, "undefined." Bastards. How DARE they call me "undefined" for being a timely registrant, for playing by their rules.
Damn...4 weeks wasted when I could have been angry.
I'll phone VWoA tomorrow AM and yell at someone who has zero actual responsibility in this other than being paid a miserable wage to deal with...with...irate customers. I can't wait to make his/her life even more miserable.
..."'tis the season", I suppose...bah, humbug...
(PS: Still racking up mile after mile of very pleasant motoring with our 3 distinctly different VW vehicles, loving every mile...LOL!...no...wait...I'm supposed to be ANGRY! I'll work on it...)
No package (VW). Jalopnik ran a story saying the dealers didn't even get the VW support they expected, when VWG agreed to buy shelved trade-ins only for one day (10/22). And about that "$1,000", $500 will be marked up a good 50% at the parts counter. So, ~$750?I was wondering if any A3 owners have received their goodwill package yet?
I am pretty sure you tried to check your registration code when prompted for your confirmation code...which is the one you got when checking your vehicles eligibility.Hooray! I can stop being angry! My cards were mailed on Dec. 7th, so I really was DEFINED after all.
Still waiting on mine, but last month I wrote to AudiUSA asking them to buyback my car. Didn't think anything would come out of it, as I was pissed & wanted them to know. Interestingly, I received a call last week informing me that my inquiry is being bumped up. They are asking for my service records from my dealer, will see what happens.A few have, most haven't. As an Audi owner, I would think that on this VW TDI forum, you'd be lucky to get any sort of meaningful sample of who has / hasn't received their package....
A note for those who aren't in the habit of reading the fine print:
Located on the back of the booklet that contains your cards, paragraph #5, is your PIN number for the Visa Loyalty card....if you ever need it for a transaction. For most transactions, you can just select "Credit" and sign the receipt.
Still have not received my package.. Completed it on 11/9...
Call or chat VW Customer Care. They will tell you when they processed your application and when you can expect to receive it.4 weeks come and gone on the "goodwill package" with nary a sign. Man, VW is really good at sucking us in.
Called VW. Few minutes wait. They verified my registration, and told me that the dieselinfo web site is misleading: supposedly the registration code check is only meant for people who registered before the program started on November 8. Anyways, after being told that my package doesn't show up as shipped in the computer, I get home to find the package arrived.Call or chat VW Customer Care.
