Once you go to the dealer and activate them can you then use the dealer money at any VW dealer? I was wondering if we could use them at one of the wholesale VW dealer parts place.
According to the instructions in the GW pack I received, it states that the VW card can be used at any dealership. Nothing suggested that I was tied to the activating dealer. Won't know for sure till I ask them, though.

I registered our 3 cars on the 9th and 10th. Received the confirmation emails for each. With many stating the early registrations may have been in error, I called VW. Waited no more than 15 minutes. The guy was really good, said the numbers were confirmed and that they had been mailed. Could not have been nicer. I was never in the flip out mode, just concerned I might have to re-register. All is good. Someone "WAY" back mentioned some people won't be satisfied until the mortgage is paid off and first two kids college is funded. Really good observation. Combined with my Christmas bonus, and these cards...I'm pleased as punch! Plus I got 49.7 MPG on my last tank of combined driving......priceless.

Looks like my VW credit card will be spent trying to fix my wife's GTI... Leaking rear main seal and bad ABS pump/controller...

Audi A3 TDI owner here (126,000 trouble free economical fun miles in 5 years) who signed up for the goodwill cash early in the day it opened up. My number seems to be sequential to the VW numbers.

I was wondering if any A3 owners have received their goodwill package yet?

I need new tires and was waiting to get VW/Audi to buy them for me!

A few have, most haven't. As an Audi owner, I would think that on this VW TDI forum, you'd be lucky to get any sort of meaningful sample of who has / hasn't received their package....

Why, is the VW credit time limited as in I need to use up my $500 in 12 months?
VW funds the cards, but another financial organization processes the cards and mails them to the consumers. The financial organization may charge nothing for this and may just depend on being able to keep unspent funds. That is why there is a time limit.

Nice try, here is why there is an expiration date: Its a Credit Card, they happen to require this, ever seen a credit card that did not expire? me neither.. I wonder how you would buy anything with a non expiring card, you cant buy stuff on credit by leaving mandatory payment fields blank.

Sure they could of made it 2 or 3 years to expire, but that would uncommon, Ive had plenty of prepaid visas come in as rebates, they all had to be used within a year of being issued.

They should have done a digital e-card or whatever, it would make it much easier for both sides, and much faster to receive it. I understand that one would still need to go to the dealership for validation though.

Has any one seen this? Seems a bit vague and maybe just rumor but apparently VW announced somewhere that they will be compensating diesel owners for the decrease in value of their vehicles? Must have announced it internally because this is the only article I can find.

http://www.npr.org/2015/12/10/459200141/compensation-to-vw-owners-will-include-loss-of-resale-value
The NPR piece yesterday was the first time I saw this mentioned. I saw it thrown out and attributed to Mueller on another website today. There were no further details in the other article.

Geez...I haven't visited here for a couple weeks. I had NO IDEA HOW ANGRY I SHOULD BE at VWoA. I've wasted 4+weeks of calm indifference toward VWoA when I could have been ANGRY!

It's 10:30pm, full day of work, I'm exhausted, and NOW I'm ANGRY enough that I won't be able to sleep.

I just checked my confirmation code (20151109-xxxx) and it says, "undefined." Bastards. How DARE they call me "undefined" for being a timely registrant, for playing by their rules.

Damn...4 weeks wasted when I could have been angry.

I'll phone VWoA tomorrow AM and yell at someone who has zero actual responsibility in this other than being paid a miserable wage to deal with...with...irate customers. I can't wait to make his/her life even more miserable.

..."'tis the season", I suppose...bah, humbug...:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

(PS: Still racking up mile after mile of very pleasant motoring with our 3 distinctly different VW vehicles, loving every mile...LOL!...no...wait...I'm supposed to be ANGRY! I'll work on it...)

Hooray! I can stop being angry! My cards were mailed on Dec. 7th, so I really was DEFINED after all.

No package (VW). Jalopnik ran a story saying the dealers didn't even get the VW support they expected, when VWG agreed to buy shelved trade-ins only for one day (10/22). And about that "$1,000", $500 will be marked up a good 50% at the parts counter. So, ~$750?

RE: A7 ($70,000) Perception may never fully recover, but an unapproved AECD that gets approved, with perhaps no or few emissions control changes, doesn't really change the car. It's still an A6 that vibrates a lot, but with more pretty sheet metal. :D

We're on to VW finally indicating a culture problem, at today's meeting. Potsch:

"the developers of the E189 project quite simply could not find a way to meet tougher NOX limits in the US by permissable means"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9u7osrHjzU

I want the fun to drive factor, but don't see myself buying a VWG drive train for a while. I've had a couple flat-sixes, tracked, etc, etc, but those were different times.

I am pretty sure you tried to check your registration code when prompted for your confirmation code...which is the one you got when checking your vehicles eligibility.

Incentives

I know different dealers are offering incentives for trades. Below is what is being offered from my local dealer:

First and foremost I would like to thank you for being a loyal Volkswagen Gallery customer. I wanted to personally reach out to our diesel customers to offer assistance and guidance with the Volkswagen Goodwill Program that has been mailed to you.
By now, you should have received the package from Volkswagen which includes a $500 Volkswagen Prepaid Visa Loyalty Card that you can spend anywhere and a $500 Volkswagen Dealer In-Store Gift Card. This card can be used for service, parts, accessories and boutique items such as shirts, hats, bikes, etc. at our dealership. You may also use it toward the purchase of a new vehicle.
In order to activate the cards, the current registered owner must bring their vehicle to the dealership. At that time we will match up the records of your vehicle identification number, mileage on your car and activate your goodwill cards.
We would like to extend additional incentives for any current diesel customer that is interested in upgrading their current vehicle to a new gas powered, fuel-efficient vehicle. Below are some year-end offers you can take advantage of:
Sign and drive event ZERO Down ZERO 1st Month’s Payment
Dealer cash on select models up to $4000
$1000 owner loyalty credit
110% of KBB Fair Market Value on your current vehicle
$1000 Goodwill Package from Volkswagen

Kind of tempting. I don't know what models qualify for $4000 dealer cash (I'd guess Touaregs). I have 73K on my 2010 Jetta and it still runs great. Having had a 2013 Jetta I prefer the 2010 in terms of quality of the interior. The inventory at my local dealer is pretty sparse, actually. A brand new Carmax just opened up across the street fro the VW dealer. They must be worried at this point.

Still waiting on mine, but last month I wrote to AudiUSA asking them to buyback my car. Didn't think anything would come out of it, as I was pissed & wanted them to know. Interestingly, I received a call last week informing me that my inquiry is being bumped up. They are asking for my service records from my dealer, will see what happens.

A note for those who aren't in the habit of reading the fine print:

Located on the back of the booklet that contains your cards, paragraph #5, is your PIN number for the Visa Loyalty card....if you ever need it for a transaction. For most transactions, you can just select "Credit" and sign the receipt.

THANKS.. I don't read fine print & if I should I can never find my reading glasses.

I finally got through to Audi customer chat and after being told there was no way to check on the status of goodwill packages they admitted that none would arrive for another 2-3 weeks, that none will even be mailed until 12-22. Nice. Paid a huge premium for the Audi version of the TDI and getting far WORSE customer care. I asked why they promised "within four weeks" and she said "I'm sorry we didn't meet your expectations." And the she logged off the chat.

Call or chat VW Customer Care. They will tell you when they processed your application and when you can expect to receive it.
Called VW. Few minutes wait. They verified my registration, and told me that the dieselinfo web site is misleading: supposedly the registration code check is only meant for people who registered before the program started on November 8. Anyways, after being told that my package doesn't show up as shipped in the computer, I get home to find the package arrived.
So far this scandal is working out ok!

Edit: lucky post 14,000 !!! Woo-hooo !!!!!!!
