Wow, relax people. Did you really expect that everybody would get their packages on the same day? Calling up and complaining isn't going to expedite anything. If a couple of days is such a huge deal, you probably need some financial management classes.
If I wouldn't have called I'd be waiting forever. I registered the night of the 8th and I was not in the system and was forced to re-register even though I had proof with an email and confirmation number.

I don't remember vw saying anything about the order they would be sent out. But maybe they were sent out in that order and it's all the postal service's fault for not being perfect. Or maybe they are being sent out randomly- oh the injustice. :)

The operator did mention that registration order meant nothing to mailing order.

iadubber, what did they tell you when you called? Did then not find any registration details you submitted or was it there and just not processed?

She asked for my code, I gave it to her, CH-20151108-7390, and she said, yes according your confirmation number you did sign up the 8th. She said there should have been no possible way for me to sign up before the 9th, yet I have the code to prove that. All she said was if I wanted the package I would need to sign up again and wait.

I'm just hoping to have mine by the end of next week. Then I can get my 80k service done and use the other card for our Christmas trip. Was going to use it for Christmas gifts but think that money has already been spent.

Fair enough. For those who somehow managed to register before Nov. 9, calling customer service is not a waste of time. Clearly a case where the early bird gets to wait.

With the possible lost early registrations, I called VW lastnight just to check. I registered on Nov 9th and did get an email confirmation. They confirmed my registration is in the system and has an order date of the 9th but no ship date entered. The customer service rep was great and mentioned that several people called with early registration dates and had recieved nothing as of yet. He suggested re-registering if I would like but said I shouldn't need to. It really makes no difference to me when it comes but would be nice before Christmas.

VW encourages customers to call if the do not receive their package after 4 weeks.

From their FAQ, the even say please:

"If it has been more than 4 weeks since you registered and your Goodwill Package hasn’t arrived, please contact Volkswagen Customer CARE at 1-800-822-8987."

This ensures you registered correctly. The cards are sent out by the bank so they have little control over why there is a delay.

I registered on the 14th. So, my month is up next Monday. I will not be bothered unless I don't receive it by the 28th.

I registered on the 14th too, and got it yesterday. You should get it today or tomorrow, I would suspect.

Everyone's quoting those numbers at the end of the registration code.... but I doubt those are sequentially issued. As a programmer I'd have it create a random number just to ensure the first part of the confirmation code won't clash with another.

As an example my code (here in Canada) is AB-20151207-218103-CA

That would be: [First Initial][Last Initial]-[Date]-[Random Code]-[CA for Canada]

If they didn't have the sequence of numbers it's possible to have a duplicate code. Now, maybe it's possible it's sequential, but I doubt it, more likely it's based on your VIN.

So no one is scared about the clauses they have written in that state they can change the rules and you have to go to SD for any litigation?

You should get your fill of everybody's opinions on that question throughout this thread, if you read it. If it's not enough, you can find more opinions on your question here: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=448053

My opinion? You would be wasting your time and money. Take the $1,000 and wait to see what (if anything) will be forced onto your car.

Just called to make sure my registration was received...I registered on the 9th and she said it was processed on the 10th. Cards were starting to be mailed out last week so I'm expecting sometime this week. The free money will get here eventually...nice Christmas bonus so I'm excited.
Rule of thumb with free money...don't spend it until you have it! Sounds like a lot of people had that money spent on Nov. 9th! Be grateful and enjoy the great mpg while we have it!

It seems that only those who signed up after 11/12 received their package.

Has anyone received it that has signed up between 11/9 and 11/11?
.
I signed up on 11/11 and called Customer Care today. They confirmed that mine was sent out in a bulk mailing late last week and was in transit. Due to holiday rush, he said it might be a couple more days...

just got off the phone with vw and it's true. They did not receive my registration (even thought i have an email confirmation). I'm told that i am at the back of the line and my cards will not arrive until 4 weeks from today!
I got no satisfaction from them at all. When i complained i was told by sara the operator that there was nothing she could do and nothing anyone else could do. I just have to wait my turn.
F... Vw they suck. I hope they go bankrupt. Great customer service!
Where the @$!# is my free money. I want it now

@$!# you VW this changes nothing. I will take your money, spend it, and curse you until end of days

I curse your product which impacted me in no way over this issue

Seems that a handful of folks are pretty upset with VW. It doesn't seem to me that a few days delay in arrival of free money should generate this much anger. If you think about it you're counting on the reliability of a bank and the USPS to deliver your package exactly on time. I think people are smart enough to realize that things can easily take longer than predicted.

So it can't only be about when the money arrives. Must be something else.

In a country where spilling hot coffee (isn't coffee supposed to be hot) on yourself nets you millions in a lawsuit, what do you expect. LOL

We appear to live in a culture of umbrage. People are always looking for something to get riled up about. The amount of anger that is rampant in our world now is frightening. Whether that anger is directed at VW or at an ethnic group, or a religion, or a political party, or your neighbor - it does not seem to matter. Any excuse for umbrage is apparently acceptable. I am also amazed by the reaction of many people here to this "dieselgate" issue. It is only a car folks. It is just a machine. Yes, VW lied to various government bodies (in different countries) and they will be rightly punished for that. Until we know if or how VW intends to "fix" our cars, we are just spinning our wheels guessing and arguing about an uncertain future. What a huge waste of time and effort that is. All I know for sure is that I have no intention of turning down free money. I am certain that I can find $500 worth of VW parts to buy over the next year. VW can give me all the money they want to, and I will not argue.

Have Fun!

It's not just the money. You have the diehard people on here who thinks Volkswagen can do no wrong, their cars are wonderful, and the VW world is great. And then you have the others, "like me" who really liked Volkswagen enough to buy 4 of their cars. But they cheated and lied, and the trust has been broken. I do not like what they did. And they have also lied about the time frame to receive the cards. I think this, along with the poor public relations they have shown is the straw that broke the camels back. I signed up on the 9th, still haven't received anything, and I have a trade lined up at a dealership waiting on the arrival of the Visa cards. Volkswagen promised the cards, and said they should be here within 4 weeks. People expected that. And they didn't deliver for the ones who signed up first anyway. I completely understand the anger. If I promised you a steak dinner on Friday evening, and didn't show up until Wednesday. I bet you wouldn't be happy with me! Just saying...

Nothing new about that. I can post an excerpt from an 1853 mailing on school truancy i found in my attic that is so over the top its totally hilarious.

If someone wrote something like that today they would be called psychotic.

Lies and the lying liars who tell them!

This whole issue is so blown out of proportion its hilarious how serious the average "ive been betrayed" poster is about it.

As far as im concerned VW's emissions shenanigans is the usual dog and pony show of automakers vs emissions compliance. This is only the LATEST scandal, not the first one in history. Therefore you can feel betrayed, or you can accept the reality of how things are done.

As far as I'm concerned VWs are wonderful. I've bought something like 13 TDIs, right now between me and my kids we own 6 VWs (OK, one's a gasser). And as soon as the 16's are released for sale I'm planning on buying another.

I could care less about the EPA and CARB: I think very little of the way they've tried to legislate diesel cars into extinction. And I love the combination of (as Fred would say) economy, longevity, and performance that diesels provide.

Your analogy about the steak dinner doesn't quite work. It would be more like if you said: "Let's have dinner sometime soon, maybe in a month or so." If we didn't happen to have dinner one month to the day from when you suggested it, I don't think I'd be upset.

Lot of crying here. They are giving me free money but I got to wait Please.
If you are not happy do not take the money or give it to charity or some homeless person.
Better yet take the VW card and give it one of our USA Vets we know they could use the help. I will do one even better.
I will take one of my VW cards and give free parts to and local Vet that owns a VW that need service this month.
$50 free parts from the dealer they pay labor per Vet, till the $500 is used up.
