Anyone in the Boston, Ma area know of any dealers offering any additional incentives to have the cards validated at their dealership? I've heard of this happening in other markets.

Presorted mail stamp from Nashville Tn. I live in Tennessee
See copy of envelope below
They must be printing it in Illinois then using all that idle time now at the Chattanooga plant to stuff the envelopes. They didn't want it to look too obvious, so they had someone drive to Nashville to mail them. :D

Love my TDI

Rwcieved mine today, activation took about 5 minutes. Now a real question. What will you spend $500 at the dealer. Had my 40 k service already done, and have New tires already. So any recommendations? Thanks

So no one is scared about the clauses they have written in that state they can change the rules and you have to go to SD for any litigation?

are they sending USPS, ups or fedex? I live in a rural area that USPS wont deliver to and have to pick up almost all amazon delivery's at the post office
No one has answered, but AFAIK, the "package" is a $500 gift card and a $500 voucher for dealer services.
I imagine it's a USPS envelope, no need for UPS or FEDEX.

Wow, relax people. Did you really expect that everybody would get their packages on the same day? Calling up and complaining isn't going to expedite anything. If a couple of days is such a huge deal, you probably need some financial management classes.

Negative, ghostrider, since those terms *still* only apply to the card agreement, and not VW andthe EPA issue . . . as you would have quickly learned had you done a search or a little reading . . . that question has literally been beaten to death . . .

No it's just that we were told that the packages would be sent out according to your sign-up date which has been proven to be false. I suppose I should have expected to be mislead :-(

I don't remember vw saying anything about the order they would be sent out. But maybe they were sent out in that order and it's all the postal service's fault for not being perfect. Or maybe they are being sent out randomly- oh the injustice. :)

Also keep in mind that the USPS is in complete disarray between Thanksgiving and Christmas every year. Ordered an item from Amazon last week, it shipped USPS for two-day shipping. Took 6 days to get here after being picked up from the warehouse 20 miles from my house - by FedEx - delivered to the post office there - then moved to the post office in the next town over, where it was picked up by UPS and delivered to my house.

I'm going to be f**k'n pissed if what I read here is true about signing up prior to the 9th those submissions did not register. I've waited patiently for over a month and I have to find out on a message board!!
I just registered again and went from submission in the 7000's to submission in the 230,000's!!!!!!!!!!!!
W T F!
Believe you, me I will be on the horn with VW at 8am tomorrow.
And do what? Scream at some random phone operator because you had to do 30 seconds of re-registration and will have to wait a few more weeks for a free gift?

Lets all relax here people. I didnt blow a gasket and punch grandma in the face because her annual christmas socks were a few weeks late last year

Received an email from VW, offering $1000 in the form of 50-50 split between dealer credit and prepaid credit card.

I'm in Canada.

The $1000 is in Canadian funds.

The exchange rate is 1.36 today - meaning the CAD 1000 is worth about USD740

We paid more for the cars in Canadian dollars than what our American neighbours paid for theirs in USD.

Does anyone see what's wrong with the picture?

I take the "goodwill money" as a pretty solid indicator that VW still has no concrete idea of how they're going to correct the emissions problem, especially in the non-SCR cars. If it were just a matter of negotiating fines and settlements, that would be simple enough (although perhaps quite expensive). But I fall into the camp that doesn't believe they have a good solution to retrofit all the cars that will need a hardware fix. Remember, they are not only going to have to install <whatever>, but they'll need to warranty not only it, but its effects on the rest of the car down the road (or so I think).
So- continuing to lurk may indeed be your best course.

I registered on the 11th, live on the east coast, and have not received anything yet. I am inclined to check with VW to see if I need to re-register, but I know they are getting hammered already...I will probably give it until the end of the week and call them on Monday if I still have not gotten anything.

Has anyone seen any more dealers offering "bonuses" on top of the goodwill cards? There was a post or two about it, but I am wondering if it might become more widespread.

Just got off the phone with VW and it's true. They did not receive my registration (even thought I have an email confirmation). I'm told that I am at the back of the line and my cards will not arrive until 4 weeks from today!
I got no satisfaction from them at all. When I complained I was told by Sara the operator that there was nothing she could do and nothing anyone else could do. I just have to wait my turn.
F... VW they suck. I hope they go bankrupt. Great customer service!

I registered on the 14th. So, my month is up next Monday. I will not be bothered unless I don't receive it by the 28th.

Yeah, just a typical mail sized envelope. I received my first one yesterday. I didn't submit both cars at the same time, so I expected them to arrive on different dates.

The insert specifically states that using the cards in no way impacts an owner's rights for possible future legal action.
