So how many miles over can you get away with it and still sell the warranty or as long as its still in the initial factory remaining B2B no worries?

Could i say, purchase a 04 with 28K miles and still buy a warranty from you?

thanks

As long as the vehicle is within its 4years or 50k original limited bumper to bumper warranty from VW.

In your case, the new warranty would start at Jan of 04{due to your model year} and run as long as you determine by the warranty you choose!

Chris,

What if you use new ELF 506.01 oil with an 'extended drain interval', wich allows you to safely go beyond the orginal VW specified drain interval?

Would you still need to do your oil changes per the schedule in the owner's manual, or could you adjust this to reflect using an updated and superior oil?

Thanks, Mike 2005.5 A5 Jetta- purchased from Chris.

Mike,

I have asked a few people in service and the best advice that I have been given is to perform the maintenance as per VW's schedule, NOT the oil manufacturers schedule. This would insure NO problems, legal or otherwise!

Are the warranties still good if you change your own oil, filters, etc.? If you live 100 miles from the dealer is the tow still good? Thanks

As long as you have a receipt for the "correct" oil and document the service, YES, the warranties are valid! As far as the tow, they will tow you to the nearest authorized VW facility. If it happens to be 100 miles, then so be it!

How about a price for an 06, 5spd, pkg 1 for gold, gold plus, and platinum? We would get to 100K miles in 3.5 years. You can PM, or post price. Thanks

As long as your 2006 has under 24k now, here are the quotes:

The plan that best fits your needs would be a 5yr or 100k plan!

Gold=$1149 + 6% tax
Gold Plus=$1225 + 6% tax
Platinum=$1350 + 6% tax

This all w/ a $100 std deductible

For a $50 deductible, please add $150
For a $0 deductible, please add $190 to pricing

Chris,
I just picked up a VW Certified '05 Golf for $18,500. It has 22,3oo miles on it. I understand the factory warranyty is 4/50K and the Cert Warranty is 2?24K ono top, covering me out to 74,000. As I understand it, your extended Gold warranty would pick up after the 74,000 miles and cover me to 100K?

You are correct in all 3 time and mileage categories.

My warranty time frame {there are 5yr 100k, 6yr 100k , or 7yr 100k options}would take you up to the 100k mark, however, the time would start from Jan 2005{all extended warranties go based on model year of your vehicle and Jan of that year!

As of Jan 1st, 2007 the warranty company has raised the price of all my warranties by $20. Allthough I beleive this to be a small increase, they have also increased the waving of the std $100 deductible by an exhorbinant amount almost double from before!

Could you explain/give the price of the new deductible? I am a little confused. Thanks

The GENUINE VW warranty comes w/ a std $100 deductible. Last years pricing to get a $50 deductible was an additional $150 and to get the $0 deductible it was an additional $190.

With the new years pricing, the same $100 deductible is std, however, the $50 deductible now costs $270 and the $0 deductible now costs $325 additional.

This is unsolicited plug for Chris.

Chris just helped me get a warranty for my 2003 Passat W8 and got me a great lead on my 2003 Audi A6.

Chris was friendly, honest, thoughtful and made things as easy and as painless as they could be.

When I am in the market for a car, he's the guy I'll be contacting first!

Chris thank you!

Steve
