VW Coolant problems and overheating

@wsc The oil cooler looks just as nasty as mine was. What a mess! That 90 degree elbow, where did that come from? If yours cracked like that, I may need to inspect mine before it leaves me stranded on the side of the road.

@eugene89us, it was on the firewall connecting the heater core. It was worn all the way through. The other one was almost as bad.
It comes from solids in the antifreeze. G 13 turns acetic and forms solids. My 2015 80000 miles had a hole in that elbow and left me stranded. Dealer is installing 4 filter to try to lean up cooling system. They have had the car about a month. $2700 total after 2 heater cores pluged. VW must have known as they dropped G13 and went back to G12. If they knew and did not notify the owners I’m told that is fraud. I smell a class action law suite. Sign me up.
