Guys what will happen if I don't get the n75 or ecu reprogrammed. Also I have a gq do I just need tuned chips or i need another chip soldered in there?

Tell us what you plan on doing?

Install a VNT15 turbo into the 1z? without the VNT Controller the vanes will stay shut and you will overboost and blow the turbo.

You can use the GQ ECU with different chips, for the VNT controller you can use the current EGR solenoid or the MK4 ALH N75. I just did this conversion on my 98 AHU Jetta.

My t15 is shot oil covering the inside of the exhaust, so I bought an alh vnt15. I know I need to grind the mount a little or replace with a custom one, also have a really new downpipe for the t15 and bought a vnt15 flange so it can get welded together. Next I will get an ALH style N75, there are like 50 bux new (newer style), unless the 1z actuator can handle it. Also do I just tell a chip tuner that it is now a vnt and then I just need those 2 pull out chips or is there another chip that needs replaced (total 2 or 3 chips?) I just want like a RC3 tune with the vnt15, little bit more power and still great mpg. (FYI 1996 Passat TDI 5 speed, clutch change before i got it so no idea what it is, also sprint 764's are installed)

if you delete the EGR you can use that solenoid.

You only need to replace the two chips LLL and HHH. Just provide the injector size to the tuner and they will be able to make it work.

I also added the vacuum ball and check valve as on ALH.

Number 2 on this site is the location of e EGR solenoid.
Engine compartment

I'll snap a few pictures of my conversion and post them, it will give you a better idea of the work involved.

Cool I found it. They deleted the erg, all but the solenoid and the valve on the manifold. Would I just use the line going to that valve, then send it to the vane operator? I guess a diagram or clear pictures of what goes where, and how the b4's n75 will stay in the loop would be great. Happy Turkey Day!

I deleted the existing N75 solenoid, extended the N75 wires and plugged it into the N18 EGR Solenoid. You can see in the picture where and how I mounted the Vacuum ball. I left the EGR plug unplugged and deleted the code in the software.

See Vacuum diagram, the arrow to the left goes to the Vacuum pump.

You will have to modify the rear mount and the aluminum block.

I borrowed this first picture:

This is my modified aluminum mount.

The intake tube will fit by trimming it a bit on the bottom and creating another mount point at the intake manifold as seen in the picture (Added longer screw and about a 1in spacer), to prevent movement.

Oil feed line can be reused by bending it to fit.

I cut the EGR valve off and welded aluminum pipe to the intake manifold:

Oil drain has to be replaced, the ALH Oil drain with the nut adapter fits perfect.

I changed to the MK2 PVC setup and deleted the block PVC tube with a plate from a MK2 as well. No more oil leaks from there. That's the reason why the welded intake pipe is offset towards the firewall to clear the PVC puck.
Let me know if you have more questions.
