I have noticed more so now that i took my snow tires off and have my all seasons on that when driving say at 65 mph plus and give it throttle to go faster it vibrates the steering wheel . I know its not the tires bc at a steady speed on cruise you dont feel any vibes.

How prone are these cars to taring up motor mounts .

Thats the only thing i can think that would be an issue , or maybe a trans mount but i dont see that happening .

2012 passat tdi dsg with 81k on it .

All turned back to VW. Now a 2017 Hundai Tuscon. Not a single squalk in 10k miles.
1. Never say never. If snows didn't vibrate and summers do, then they're suspect. Check for proper torque, bent or damaged wheels, and double check tie rods.

2. Check for worn or damaged CV joints. (No chuck allowed.)

3. Move tires front to rear and rear to front.

Somewhere in the mix methinks you'll have found the problem.

Ive noticed my car doing this same phenomenon at 92k miles now. Started maybe 10k miles ago. Happens at highway speeds when accelerating. Doesn't seem to do it when i drop into neutral at speed. Im running stage 3 tune.

Crap I didn't even think about it till now. Could it be the flywheel. Mine doesn't do it at lower speeds. It's basically 70 and up when you go to pass someone floored or not. Let off and hit cruise and smooth as hell

No 16s are winter tires.

The ones on are the factory 17s with brand new tires. I drove like a granny today to get max mpgs and no issues. Did 55 and 65 on the highway. All was good. Just at higher speeds.

Mine is most noticeable when in 6th gear cruising and increase speed or go up a grade. Doesn't seem to do it at full throttle. Could be motor mounts. I guess time will tell

Paid more attention today on the drive home. Mine only does it 70+ while under moderate throttle.Theres a hint of it continously while going 80. It may also do it at full throttle but its harder to tell. You can feel it more in the steering if you steer side to side while its doing it. Once you let off the throttle or go on a down grade or go into neutral its gone. I would think if its the dmf it would present at other times during the driving range. Im hoping for motor mounts or CV because Ive already had a hard enough time finding a clutch setup that would hold up! And my dmf only has about 30k miles and 10k of which were stage 3

My issue appears to be solved. I installed new tires last weekend and that took care of it. Glad it wasn't something expensive

Mine '13 has been doing that for a while. It's noticeable when cruising at 65/70 mph and accelerating, the vibration starts. It's not a lot, but enough for me to notice each time I accelerate. I have newer tires and it did that also with older ones.

Check wheel torque values carefully. I saved myself brakes and rotors by re-torquing. Tire guy got lazy on one wheel...

That's one reason I always like to watch them working on my car if the shop allows it. Most of the time when allowed to watch I strike up a good conversation with the tech so he doesn't feel stressed by owner of car eagle eyeing his work :D
