This is not my daily driver, but I would like it to be.

Long story made short:

We drove to our daughter's home ( a 1 hour highway drive), we planned to help 2 teenagers to drive a manual trans. While teaching them to drive a car w/ a manual trans the car overheated. After letting it cool down, we tried adding more coolant, but it just poured right out. I had AAA tow the car home.

The next day I determined the leak was caused because one of the heater core hoses ruptured. I also noticed that the engine mount that connects to the block, & the alternator and A/C Compressor that are attached to it had broken. I also observed that the mount that attaches to the front of the engine was also broken. I replaced both mounts.

I replaced the heater core hoses, filled it with coolant, all coolant stayed within the cooling system. Engine started easily. I drove it around off and on for a couple days. It was as good as it was before it over heated.

Life and work got busy and I didn't touch the car for a month. When I next drove it, it kept going into limp mode. I did some reading in the TDI Forum and someone said that a fuel filter that was starting getting dirty could cause limp mode. I replaced the fuel filter, the occurrences of limp mode were less frequent, but still there.

Here is the related section of VCDS findings. Please let me know if there is anything else you need.

Just curious… when you say goes into limp mode… do you mean the car will only travel at a very slow speed… or PRND12 flashing or what..?

My initial guess is turbo veins are not moving freely.

Or the actuator has a hole in the diaphragm. Common on a BRM.
Got to get a vacuum pump (MityVac) and check the continuity of the vacuum hoses connections to vacuum reservoir, N75 valve, and actuator.

When you first start the car does the actuator push the turbo lever fully down? If not, try to help it by pushing the the actuator coupling down with a screwdriver. If it catches and sends the actuator rod down then it is at least the faulty actuator causing the code.

I will check to see if the Turbo Vanes move freely

I will check the actuator

Check all your vacuum components, including your vacuum reservoir, for leaks.
