VERY bad Diesel Mileage.

Hey guys,

I am probably getting the worst Diesel/Fuel Mileage on this forum. So I usually fill my tank up to 44L ( Redline to Full or when the sign comes on) and it last me about 350-450kms ? I recently filled it up to half tank and got 240ish.

My tire pressure is good, thermostat seems good, coolant needs changing. When I bought the car the guy said the MAF sensor was replaced.

Please help, I am suppose to be getting 600-500kms a tank with city driving, I know highway driving is better mileage.

are you able to get a real time readout of what you engine is doing?

I thought my thermostat was good but turns out it maxed out at 170F
find a Bluetooth obd2 connection then sync to your smartphone
they are cheap and help diagnose

Just changed the coolant the other day and I am almost at 278kms half tank. So i am expecting 600kms. Lets see what happens.

At this fill-up I added a can of BG-244 and I was surprised at the price "expensive". So far I am at 3\4 tank and I am at a higher mileage for the point on the fuel but will report my mileage at fill-up.

I am a fan of amsoil diesel injector cleaner but I think this is better because it keeps the ego clean to in my opinion if that matters.

Check:
Thermostat
Nozzles
G62 Sensor - (After changing the G62 Sensor by MPG went up from 30 to 40MPG)
for airleaks

just completed another fill-up with the change thermostat and this time added the BG244 to the diesel and I got
40.70mpg and this is mix normal driving
before it ranged from 32 to 37mpg.
so I hope changing your thermostat helped you
and the G62 Sensor was a good catch
I did not think about checking mine

anyone know how much the O2 sensor on PD effect the mpg and how it is used bye the ecu?
