Are you talking about the named tool OBD11 or a generic scanner of obdII ports?
I thought it was 2005 on the model break. Early 2005 were mk4, later 2005s were mk5.The "early" 2006 were still BEW / Mk4, whereas the later ones got the big upgrade to Mk5 and all of its "wonders".
Maybe @tjgalvin will be on the fortunate end of things with his Mk4 - in which case you need VAG-TACHO (or this software tool) to pull the cluster's PIN, then you can program the key with VCDS.
Wagon are different in that they were all made in Germany for the North American market and thus were handled differently than the sedans. You may be right there. I always mix it up because I know that here in Canada, you could still buy a 2006 Jetta wagon (and only as a TDI, IIRC) in the Mk4 body style.

Which year car? Most cars you need to actually tune it to do an EGR delete, with the exception of an ALH, which you can turn down with Vagcom.Ok this is going to show how little I know & that I am a total noob. I am about to pull my TDI and start my project and want to do it right, I know the ERG thing needs to go but need as Vagcom. I bought a 2021 Foxwell NT510, (here is a link to where I bought it:
will this do what I need for the EGR delete? If not, where do I find someone near Olympia WA?
