VAS programmer around DC?

I'm looking for a VW mechanic who can help me on the side, or someone who may have a VAS in the Maryland/DC/NoVA area. I need to have my door controller's firmware updated to correct a fault that will not allow me to use the Rain Closure feature available on MKV's with RLS. I have the documentation for the procedure, but it's not something you can do with a VAG-COM unfortunatley. I can pay a few bucks for this, but I just don't want to pay a VW dealer $200 just to hook up the VAS. I could practically buy one for that price off of ebay!

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I think any $200 VAS you get off eBay will not be the same as found at a dealer. The factory scan tool pretty much blows as it is, I can't imagine how much worse a crapper knock off would be.......

Yeah, I'm a little skeptical too, but they are out there. From China of course:

Point is, I'd prefer to find someone local to me that has access to one (i.e., a VW/Audi mechanic). If I could do what needs to be done with a VAG-COM, I would, but you can't flash the firmware to control modules with at VAG-COM, only a VAS.
