Boy Racer,

I hope I'm not too late!!! I would like in on the Upsolute Chip too. I have a 2000 Jetta TDI with 5spd, black leather... I see your heading over to the Island!! That's where I'm at, so if you would not mind we could do it here if you would like? If not I will for sure make the trip accross for this and to get the EGR mod done, just cleaned the whole system and did the CCV hose mod.

Bad news...the 03 TDi I have been waiting very impatiently for has not arrived in time.

No fault of the dealer. They have tried very hard to get things speeded up but they are fighting a loosing battle with the shipping company it would seem. I still stand by the sales department of Fifth Avenue Auto Haus, I am just rather disappointed at VW's forcasting and delivery service. I was first promised this car around a month ago and it was ordered early May.

Good news is that I am still on my way, I just have to drive the MX3 trying to ignore the strange noises from the front suspension
..The Porsche has no room for the surfboard (with the roof on).

Coolsio, I think it's a Mazda MX-3 (Precedia).

Good thing I checked the Foruim for an update. I'll be driving in from the Interior in the wee hours of the morning so I may be a bit groggy, but I'll be there. See you guys on Sunday!

Just got back from Van GTG. What a great bunch of guys! Nice to put faces to the names we see and talk to all the time. Also, some very nice rides. Got some helpful hints from those in the know, got Upsoluted (Thanks again, Boy Racer! Not too shabby for a Brit with a hangover!
), got de-screened and helped a number of others do like-wise. Also, VW Derf worked some high-tech magic by recalibrating EGR settings for those of us in attendance (Thanks, Fred). It's amazing how so many different people from different walks of life can come together with a common interest and spend the day talking as though they were the oldest of friends. One last thanks to Tony of Andes Auto Service for his generousity in letting us use his facilities.

Let's just say that I was having a bit of trouble keeping with the flow of traffic (or maybe they were having trouble keeping up with me!). I shocked the hell out of an unsuspecting BMW 325is driver from the light at #10 and #17 until we got into Delta. You should have seen the puzzled way he looked at the car! And the low fuel light still hasn't come on yet. Got home and the trip odo read 1165km with the needle just above the red. Love this car!

I would like to thank Tony, Racerboy and Fred for the day, it was fun. Car is feeling better today, must be the cold morning air, lag is not so bad.

Now what was left on the mod list...

Great GTG! Thanks everyone for showing up and special thanks to Tony for letting us use his garage. Looks like we are getting dedicated TDI shop in Vancouver. At least I will do my timing belt change there soon.

Sorry I missed this one, Looking at one of the pictures I do have a question, 1 of the cars has a 110V plug at the bottom of the passengers seat. What kind of mod is this? What did you do? DETAILS please......, More pics would be nice, maybe start a new topic?

I was at the GTG, but missed that 110V outlet mod.
More info on that would be much appreciated. Has anyone else done something like this?

That's todd's (username: Fuknmuvn) '03 Jetta Wagon with the 110V plug in the passenger seat.
He rigged a standard power inverter (converts 12V to 110V) to fit in the plastic section under the seat... not sure how he did it, but the power inverter itself is available at most car audio shops. Maybe he'll chime in and post about it soon.
