I notice Ed's TDi has not posted on the 'chip list'. Still interested or maybe on one of your frequent trips to the interior?

Oh man, I want the chip sooooo bad, but I have no funds available towards the purchase right now.

I would like to make it to the GTG, but I am going to be in Seattle for the 21st and I am not sure if i will be back on time. Hopefully, next time. Have fun guys.

Hey Boy Racer,

Sorry I haven't replied until now but YES! YES! YES! to getting the chip. I'll be in Osoyoos on the 18th (wednesday) until the 21st (saturday) then back to Vancouver for the GTG on 22nd (sunday). I just need directions to VW Derfs and to HotrodTDi's. If someone would be so kind as to post these between then and now it would be appreciated.

On a different topic, I saw a Jetta Tdi, auto with factory sport suspension and VW 17's and no discernable modifications on the ferry to Vancouver. Waited as long as I could to meet the driver but had to drive off before I could. Silver (like mine) with a red TD"i" on the rear. Sound familiar to anyone? And where can I get one of those "i"s from?

OK, we are booked in at the Hyatt downtown Vancouver, Friday-Sunday then off to the island for a few days. We will then head down to Seattle for a before returning home.

I can't wait..there are always so many nice cars to drool over there too. Unlike pick-up, SUV and minivan central here in Alberta.

The red i is fitted in Europe on some models and I saw a site selling them recently, but I can't remember which one, sorry.

I guess it is up to Fred now to come up with the time and meeting place or address (emailed for privacy?).

HotrodTDi, are you coming to Freds or will we need your address for GTG part 2?

I know the way to Frank's place so I can lead the pack of TDIs down there, and I can type up a brief page of directions for anybody who might be behind. It's only about 15 minutes from the Canada/US border crossing so it's a short trip.

So fellas, the time is near! I think we just need some directions to Fred's place posted for those of us not too familiar with Van. If you'd rather e-mail them that's fine too. Also, has anyone got any ideas for a stop along the way for eats? I know that you can't go 50ft without seeing a restaurant, but I'm sure somebody's got some recommendations.

Sure,

I have already got the chips for your car from Tazz, so you are sorted. It will be interesting for me as I have never experienced chip + injectors. Hopefully you can keep the smoke under control with the bleed.

So time to get the Dawes boost device before the chip...... You think we can try it first since its just a plug and play chip.... If it smokes to much and I cant control it then well i dont know

I just remembered that Fred went to the TDIfest and is driving his new jetta wagon back this week so it may be after the weekend that we will hear from him.

Coolsio1234, sure thing. If you are not happy with all that power

then by all means we can get you back to the stock chips. That goes for anyone, but like you say, your chips are easier to replace.

Lets say we put them in first at Freds and you can drive around for the day, down to Hotrodtdi's. You will probably need quite a bit of time and adjustment to get the boost right. You can make your decision then.

I would think you should be alright. People are doing it with the later cars without the benefit of being able to increase the boost like you.

Hotrodtdi, good point about Fred, I was getting concerned that we would need a new starting venue.
