Vancouver GTG

Some interest has been shown for a GTG in the Vancouver area..to coincide nicely with a long driving vacation for me to break in my new TDi.

(Any time in September is an option)

Being from Calgary, I am obviously unable to host this, I would like to ask if anyone else wouldn't mind stepping up.

Otherwise, please show your support for holding a GTG.

That would be great. September would be the perfect time to make a trip out to BC. Like I said, I travel to the Interior once a month, so if I can't make a GTG I could arrange to met up with you either on your way here or on your way back to Alberta. I've got some cash burning a hole in my pocket and it smells like diesel fumes!!

By the way, for those of us interested, what's the dollar value on Upsolution these days and how many would we need for a group rate?

Hey, you are really in-luck

To keep things cheaper for you guys I am not GST registered....This may change but probably not this year. So yes, you get a cash deal anyway.

No word from Pat (Upsolute BC) yet, but it won't change my vacation plans anyway.

I have just found out that I can't make 14/15 but the weekend before or after would be perfect. I am thinking that to get things going in time, it should be the weekend after. Sept 21/22.

Any thoughts on a venue?

I was thinking of bringing my surfboard and heading to Tofino for a bit too. Anyone here surf in BC?

The 3rd weekend (Sept 21/22) works for me, and Fred mentioned to me he would prefer that weekend as well. He'll have HIS TDI by then, too!

As for a venue - let's see how many are interested and what we'll be up to and gauge for space from there.

Also, I have only cleared Upsoluting for a GTG in vancouver and I am at some 'risk' by working in the states. So I would prefer to keep the GTG in BC.

Maybe we could start somewhere in Vancouver and drive down to HotrodTDi's.

IF, it does not work at HotRodTDI's place for border issues, I might be able to host it at my place and then visit HotRodTDI's place. I have some room at my place, but it is pretty much all on the street...

Sunday would work better for me as far as being at risk this would be a Canadian GTG and the closet Upsolute dealer from here in the states is 2 1/2 hours south of here.

I am very interested in anyone who has a 'stealth' sub install in a Golf IV. If any of you know someone then drag them along please. I need to hear them, I have looked at alot of pictures.

Would love to make it - I owe a Vancouver GTG but will be in Windsor Canada untill 9/12 and fly home, then the next morning to Bangkok (Arrg - 28 hours on a plane can kill).

I am pretty sure that there isn't a custom .205 program for your car at the moment. But I will check.

I spoke to hotrodtdi today and a post-chip cruise and meet down to his place for a quick TGI GTG would be great. He has a large grass yard in the back where we can all park our cars and take photos, fire up the barbecue, etc. hotrodtdi also has a VAG-COM so we can do some EGR disabling and such.

stealth sub you say... you mean fiberglassed into the spare tire well?
we have done many of those......
but dont know them personally enough to bring them out... but I have heard them and it sounds awsome...
