I'm new with the VAG-COM .. so please excuse my ignorance....

is there a feature in the vag-com software where i can monitor following:

boost of turbo
heat
rpm
speed
gear

I'd like to hook my vag up & take it for several days around town, to monitor such output ... and if, would it be graphic? or in variables?

any comments/help is much appreciated.

Hi, I'm a rookie with the vag com myself. Not sure what you mean by heat. It will tell you water temp, trans fluid temp (auto), and I think oil temp. I believe yes to all the others. I'm sure the experienced vag com users wil be of more help.
You can log data, but I have not figured out how yet. Have you checked out the vag com web site? You have to dig a little but it will give the information on data ogs, and graphing (excel?).

All I have done with it is the EGR mod, and checked for codes. It seems a little overwhelming, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. Want to change the power window settigs next. (just want to eliminate the auto up and auto down features). Still waiting for Bentley book. Good luck, Kevinski

Well here is what I would recommend:

For boost: MAP actual and MAP specified
For Airflow: MAF actual and MAF specified
And then throttle position, coolant temperature. I am pretty sure you get RPM too. My VagCom is lent out so I can't be sure.

The MAP Actual/Specifed is in one group, The MAF Actual/Specified is in one other group, and I am pretty sure throttle position and RPM are in one group too. Not sure if you can grab coolant temperature too.. 3 groups max.

Get the Actual and Specified gives you good data on how the engine is responding to ECM specified performance; a serious mismatch/lag indicates issues in the engine compartment.

Oh, to log the data, just get the groups you want to log data on visible on the screen and then hit the log button, and it will start logging data.

Well foot, you can log three groups at a time and if you look at MoGolf's : "A4 TDI engine measuring blocks/groups" near the top of the page in this category you will see the contents of all groups. So, pick three groups and log away.
