Hi guys.

I'm new to this. I live in Portugal and have an Audi A3 from 10/2003 2.0TDI 103Kw.
I'm trying to turn off my EGR valve, but I need a login code to access to chanel 03 in the engine module. Does anyone know it?
Some say I can find it on repair manual, but I haven't find codes.

Best regards.

Hi there.

I tried that code and it doesn't work. I think A3 8P has a different login code.
Anyone?

Thanks.

Oh, an 8P? That means it has an EDC16 engine management system. There's no known way to adjust EGR via diagnostics on those.

You do realize that if Uwe says there is no way to do it, there is probably a 99.999999% certainty that he is correct. After all, he is the man who developed the VAG-COM. Oh, and his last name is Ross, as in Ross-Tech, the makers of VAG-COM:rolleyes:;)

Really, i'm talking with a developer? LOL Didn't know as i'm new to this forum.
But still it asks a login code that i do not know. Is there any possibility that the VW/Audi knows that code?
I would like to do a log on my injectors to see the injection time, because my car usually shakes all over it. I think it's injection problem as I sometimes see smoke, not normal on new engines...
How can i do it?

Best regards.

FWIW, I didn't say there no way to do it. I said there's no known way to do via diagnostics. ;-)

My understanding is that at least some chip-tuners can do it. Of course you can also do it mechanically, but this is almost certain to lead to an incessant check-engine light.

As far as logging injector values, post the ECU part number (shown as "VAG Number" when you access the ECU) so we can see exactly what you've got there.

If you turn off the EGR, the ECU will notice because it sees no difference in airmass via the MAF sensor when the EGR is driven.
With a 81kW AHF TDI I got a CEL when I disconnected the EGR. But when I modulated the MAF signal with EGR information, the CEL didn't show. (some electronics needed)
I'm planning to try this trick also with a 103kW BKD 2.0TDI.

You don't need to login to do that. Do a RECODE on the instrument cluster. Look here. Scroll down until you see 17-Instruments: K1 -- KWP-1281 and read through that. It's the third digit in the recode. Change it from a 3 to a 2. So your recode number will probably be 0733x. x will either be a 2 or 4. Leave it the same.

Maybe it is a language barrier, isn't your question EXACTLY the same as MICASB, but now you are in Ireland???
And Uwe answered the original question immediately after it was answered. Did you bother to check back for a response?

Look in the FAQ under cleaning the manifold.
The full procedure is listed along with the login.
