Where does the VAG-COM cable connect to the MKV Golf?

Hi:
On my 02 Golf the socket is just to the left of the steering column, down below the plastic cover that hides the electrics. It's a unique looking socket as you can tell from the plug. If you stick your head down to the floor and look up you should find it.

Now how this translates when the steering wheel switches sides, I'm not sure. Is your fusebox on the left or right, it's probably not too far away from that.

The fuse box in my car is under the bonnet. There may be another inside but I havent checked it out yet. Work always gets in the way.

I'll have a look though.

On mine there's a little panel on the left side of the dash, right where the door closes.It's under there.
Only big fuses under the bonnet on top of the battery.

Found it under the drivers side, just above the accelerator pedal.
