• The TDIClub classifieds section is a heavily trafficked section of the forum that encompasses want-to-buy (WTB) and for-sale (FS) threads for the entire world. Due to the demanding nature and fast pace of this section, it is imperative that you know and understand the rules. It is also important to remember that this is the only parts classifieds section.

Cross-posting and posting classifieds in the regional sections (except the dedicated thread in Ontario) is not permitted.

Multiple items should be sold in one thread. Make sure to provide a description for all items in your post along with pictures and prices. If you start multiple threads with individual items, they will be locked or combined at the discretion of the moderators.

Here is a quick outline of the classifieds section rules. If you don't follow these rules, you subject yourself to thread deletion, thread combination, infractions, or posting privilege revocation.

    Thread titles:
    • Put FS or WTB in your thread title. This will let other users know if you are selling or buying.
    • Briefly describe what you are selling. Thread titles have limited space. Be as descriptive, yet succinct, as possible.
    • Put your location in the title.
    • If space allows, put your price in the title

Title example (single item): "FS: 2004 Mk4/BEW cylinder head - Portland, OR - $500"
Title example (multiple items): "FS: MK6 fog lights, front bumper, headlights, grill - Detroit, MI"
Title example (car part-out): "FS: Mk3 Jetta parting out engine & interior - Dallas, TX"

    Thread text descriptions and pictures:
    • All for-sale threads must include pictures of the items that you are selling. One picture is sufficient, but multiple pictures with different angles will help buyers. A picture is worth a thousand words. If you don't know how to post pictures on TDIClub, see this thread: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=286691
    • All for-sale threads must include a description. We don't charge per-word, so be as descriptive as possible. The more information you can provide, the easier it will be for buyers.
    • All for-sale threads must include a price. Auctions and bidding are not allowed. If you want to auction something off, use eBay.
No picture, no price, NO SALE!

    Thread maintenance/updates/bumps:
    • When you sell something, update your thread with "SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title.
    • If you have multiple items for sale, update your thread as each item has been sold. When everything has been sold, updated the thread with "ALL ITEMS SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title when all items have been sold.
    • If you bump your thread, please delete old bumps by clicking on EDIT and then deleting the old bump. This will reduce clutter in your thread and make it easier to read. It also makes you look less desperate.
    • If you drop your price, please update your first post in addition to posting the new price. If you would like the thread title changed, click on the report post icon and let a moderator know what you would like the title changed to.

    Moderator intervention and infraction points:
Moderators will be monitoring the classifieds section. If a moderator determines that you have not been following the rules listed above, corrections will be made and infraction points will be assessed to your account.

What is an infraction point? Simple - it's a system of keeping track of user behavior. A moderator can assign a point value based on the severity of the infraction, as well as an expiration date on the points assessed. If you accumulate a certain number of points, the system will auto-ban you for a predefined amount of time. The more points you accumulate, the longer your ban period will be.

One example of points is as follows: multiple threads will be combined into a single thread, with the number of infraction points assessed corresponding to the number of threads merged. If we merge four threads into one, then you will be assessed four points that expire in 30 days. When you reach five points, the system will auto-ban you for one day.*

*This is an example based on the current infraction system structure. We reserve the right to modify the infraction system at any time without notice or updates to this announcement.

Thank you for your cooperation, and good luck with your sales and searches! :)

Who's the admin on this site? I need to get 6speed banned for ripping off buyers.

All the sudden hes is in complete denial over the $950 he owes me for the tranny. He denied ever talking to me over the phone. He denied everthing to the Better Business Bureau. A complete liar!

"I haven't had a serious violation in some time, but have had quite a few in the past, and know how the system works.

I once spent the night on jail because I didn't pay parking tickets, they suspended my registration, and I was driving the vehicle w/ a suspended lic. due failure to pay a small fine... that sucked... but I got off pretty easy due to me following the above.."

If money changed hands (he cashed the cheques) I would file a complaint of fraud with the Buffalo commercial crimes squad. My guess is you aren't going to get your money back, but at least you could keep anyone else from getting screwed over.

Good luck.

This is why I always do transactions via the USPS, if he scams you, they get involved, then it's a Federal matter. It's saved me more than once when dealing with Ebay'ers.

The USPS has teeth...

Not only that... I NEVER send checks, orders, or use money transfer... I ONLY use Paypal or credit card. At least both offers some sort of protection. If they don't accept Paypal or credit... I don't do business with them.

What you need is 6speed to resolve this issue. Getting him banned might make you feel like you accomplished something, but the reality is that it would be a very hollow victory.

6speed, you are in the court of public opinion here. The alligations are very damaging. This is your chance to speak your side and recover your credibility and reputation. What say you?

Thanks all for the support and ideas. Yes all I really want is my $950 back, but this guy also really pissed me off with his attitude. I think he got into his lazy rip off mode after he started playing scammers, accepting Money Orders , etc. Then he turned into one.

1) Paypal 'protection' is a joke. 100% Utter Joke don't rely on it more than you'd rely on 6speed to deliver your turbos.

2) Do we need to go all Dr. Boost on this guy?

Darkscout,

Thanks for your offer to go doctor boost, but he gets one more week.

After sending him an email with the arsenal of options listed, and the same day presenting evidence to a BBB (Better Business Bureau) rep. in his area, yesterday he sent me a text message which I take as a check is in the mail.

I forwarded the message to my email from my verizon cell phone:

from 562xxxxxxx@vtext.com
to xxxxxxxxxxx@gmail.com
date Mon, Jul 21, 2008 at 8:02 PM
subject Got to the bottom of

"Got to the bottom of this. You will receive repayment by this time next week."

However, he will still owe Losha $250 for an undelivered door. I'll leave that up to Losha to ask for assistance.

Thanks All!

That was not spam, it was a warning about a thief in your neighborhood.

None of you Buffalo folks care about this theft anyway. I found that out when I quitely asked for a little local assistance on your buffalo thread.

So to correct your statement, I annoyed a lot of people who could have helped me, BUT NEVER BOTHERED TO AFTER I ALREADY ASKED THEM BECAUSE THEY DON'T CARE! And the reason I annoyed them is not for posting (not spam), but because they are embarrased to have this guy in thier neighborhood.

yea well everyone from buffalo knows who is a scammer and who isnt, thus we dont deal with those who have less than reputable reviews. you got burned which def sucks but you then annoyed everyone who knew better than deal with percy. you wernt helping us out or doing us a favor in any way. as a matter of fact i cant even remember the last time he posted on ditb. if you have so much info on him just go see him in person instead of annoying people who had nothing to do with it... thats what i would do...

I assure you that this was the first time that myself or 99% of the other members have heard about your situation.

Today, in fact was the first time I have seen the Buffalo thread on here. One post would have been enough. From what I understand, the head admin has already contacted you about the duplicate posts, and it has been resolved.

I'm sure people care about your situation, but what are you expecting us to do exactly? Go over to his garage and beat him up for the money? Like others have said, contact the proper authorities for internet fraud and let them sort it out.

Funny... I specifically do NOT use Paypal, ever, for anything, for these same reasons. History has shown they will not lift a finger to help, and have screwed MANY people. paypalsucks.com

USPS on the other hand, has the power to serve warrants, make arrests, etc. They take mail fraud VERY seriously. You send someone a USPS Money Order and they cash it but don't deliver? The office of the USPS inspector general will get medieval on their posterior. *FAR* better than any of the false "protections" that paypal claims to offer.

I used USPS, so your good advice is my next move.

I have had 100% success with refunds from Paypal/Ebay transactions.

I posted before in the tdiclub thread for buffalo members, asking for some help.

What I was thinking was just a knock on his door if you are in the area, and a friendly persuasive conversation. A real face (or surogate) might make a difference in talking some sense into Percy. He does not seem violent or unreasonable when you talk to him. The worst I got was the last telephone conversation, he tried to deny ever talking to me before (Before I first paid him I had a nice conversation with him on the phone). I mentioned the letter, check copies, etc. Then he text messaged me another day admitting...

I understand if knowone wants to take that step, I just thought I'd ask since I'm ~3000 miles away.
