Maybe someone is stealing your identity or some other scam. I would be calling them to make sure that nothing was filed on your behalf.

i made a mistake and selected that there was only one registered owner in the registration, instead i have 2.
At this time you cannot go back and change the answer, and when i contacted VW for assistance they said that they cannot reset the claim at this time, and to try again in a few days.
Just FYI

After I had opened a claim a while ago, I logged back in just to get some more news. I found out that the settlement site wants additional info sent to them via the website or by mail. They wanted the following: Copy of the title, copy of the current registration, and the DL of the registered owners. I snail-mailed the docs to them.
I am keeping the car, its payed off and with the cash I am getting, $5100.00, I will most likely buy an additional vehicle.

I have a 2014 Jetta TDI DSG sedan and plan to terminate my lease early. Maybe I'll put my story and reasoning in another thread. I do have some data to add here, though.

I have been doing some homework on a replacement car, and think that a wagon/hatchback will work best for my family, so am leaning towards a VW 2017 GSW SE (if they offer a good deal to retain me) or a 2017 Outback 2.5i Limited. I drove both last weekend. Yeah, I know these aren't apples to apples, but it's what makes sense to us now. My wife's 2017 2-door Mini is due off the boat in about 1-2 weeks, and I'll get to drive that fun car when we're together.

We have a local (Seattle) dealer that has VW and Subaru dealerships at the same location (Carter in Ballard). I spoke to the VW sales manager today, and he informed me that I could use the $350 remaining on my VW dealership card toward accessories or even the purchase/lease of a Subaru at that location. He asked if I uploaded documents yet and I said I hadn't clicked "submit" yet at the option step (fix or terminate lease). He informed me that if I wanted a new car sooner, that I should upload documents ASAP, as VW will start scheduling appointments (on the 18th assuming everything moves forward) on a 1st-come-1st-served basis.

So I just uploaded my documents. They are received and under review.

FYI, I only have $350 left because I did have the dealer change oil and put in new air filter at 30k. The only things I plan to take from the TDI are 1st aid kit and trunk Car-Go stuff if I decide to get a GSW.

How did you find out they wanted additional information? My documents are still under review. I dont see anyplace to check about sending in more documentation.

I think he was only referring to the three or so basic documents. He was days behind most of us. Nothing new....yet.

He mentions they requested a copy of the title. That was not one of the documents requested by the online submission site.

If you have a lien on the car, I gather that they don't ask for this since you usually don't have possession of the title.

It is if you tell them you don't have a loan on the car--they want front and back of the title (as separate uploads, which is a little annoying).

Especially when the back of the title is nothing but blank spaces like both of mine.

A friend of mine said that he did all of the registration stuff today and he got a turn in date for December. How is this possible?

It's entirely possible he's misunderstanding what the site is telling him, as many here have--for most of us, at least, it's just using a date (11/1 in my case) to determine mileage adjustments. If he can show you exactly what the screen says, that might help clarify. Since the settlement hasn't been approved yet, I don't see how they could schedule an official date/time yet.

The gavel comes down in just over a week. It will be clearer where we stand once that happens.

The registration website would allow you to pick any date 11/1 or later. However, that is not your turn-in date....that is not an official appointment...it is simply a placeholder date.

Pretty much everyone from TDIClub that went online and registered on that website in the first week used the system generated/default date of 11/1 for the purpose of registering. That date means absolutely nothing.

It could be that on the morning of 10/19 (assuming 10/18 goes well)...people that are registered will get a call telling them that they can bring in their car the next day. It's equally possible that it will be two or more weeks before anything happens (putting it after that 11/1 date). I would not hold my breath on anything happening on the date that you "picked" for that site registration.

Well— a week and a half. And it may be clearer, but it won't stop the flow in this forum of:

1) People who ask the same question over and over, who have not bothered to learn anything about this.

2) People who will still argue that the settlement is unfair— even after it's a done deal.

3) People who will still not know that the compensation money is part of their buyback payout.

4) The appearance of newbie / trolls.

5) Etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseam.

In full agreement, but there is a bright side. This whole mess has been a wonderful diversion from one of the sorriest presidential campaigns ever.

Wow, there's a statement I can agree with 100%. We have the two sorriest candidates in American history. I feel nothing but contempt for one and disgust for the other. I'm tempted to vote for none of the above.

Very well stated. We seem to have a surplus of each of your categories.

With all of the technology that we have these days, it seems like one could have a FAQ-Bot that answers questions such as these.
Amazon has such a thing, it searches the words you type while asking product questions. Saves lots of time.

I uploaded my doc's last night too. I was consistently checking the website until about 2 weeks ago, due to being busy with other stuff. Got the email last night stating the Online Portal was ready to accept documents. I wondered about the dr license, if they needed both sides, but only uploaded the front side since it wasn't specific about it. Hope it works out.

Yeah, interestingly, got an email that they were ready for documents. Funny as I had uploaded a few weeks ago (for one JSW -- still need to do the second one).

Just checked that my original upload is still "good" and it still shows received and being reviewed...
