I'm newish to the forum and not sure how to update that document...hope this helps.
fwiw, I had a 5 minute conversation with Ron because I was thinking of buying a golf from sheppard motors and wanted an inspection done. He was booked out 2 weeks. chatted a bit about how he doesn't like biodiesel and wondered if the 2005 golf I was looking at was an alh or bew. I thought 2003 was the last year?
He seemed like a nice enough guy and was happy to give me advice.

You are correct- 03 was the last year for the ALH.

Concur! If he doesn't know what engine is in which car, he doesn't have enough experience to be considered a trusted TDI mechanic.
