I charge $75.00 for the install (Including oil change if done at the same time).

My reasoning on purchase

I bought this kit too, but have yet to install it. I will as soon as I get time. My thinking is that now that I have chipped the car and gone to larger injectors, it will overfuel when I am having fun. This will produce more blowby gasses and more soot too, all making the oil wear faster.

It seemed like a natural progression to me.

No. The system retains the original oil pressure of the system without interferring with it in anyway... Even if the filter completely clogs the oil system continues as it did before the filter was ever installed.

Just like the CAT filters, if a dealer knows what it is they may commend you for being pro-active in keeping your oil so clean.

Just like the CAT filter extends fuel system life by up to 7 fold, adding a by-pass too will GREATLY extend the life of these critical parts.DB
who sells sthe CAT fuel filter "system" for a BEW ?
Has any TDI specific vendor/retailer, etc . . .
put together a kit ? Or is it j"just" a fuel filter

who do you recommend ?

how long did it take ya?
It took me almost 2.5 hours. 2 hours of which was simply trying to get the electrical connection back onto the oil pressure sensor after I had reinstalled it. The plumbing and other installation took less than 30 minutes.

The electrical connector in my car had a very short wire lead on it, the electrical connector's rubber tip was also impacting the wire bundle on the back of the alternator. The sensor was not tightened down, and so it would rotate every time I would try to align the connector. I have a slight loss of range of motion in my hands from old injuries. All of this made it a real pain to simply get the electrical connector plugged back in.

Once I tightened the sensor into the fitting so it could not rotate any longer it took less than 10 minutes to finish the job.

I am pretty sure most people could do this job in 45 minutes or less. It was not technically challenging in the least.

Agree, under an hour. The only hard part for me was having to go buy a ball-end allen wrench set to get the right rear valve cover bolt out. Oh, also, don't drill your return line hole too low, or it can make getting the left front valve cover bolt back in tricky.

Just got my filter kit in and decided to Powdercoat it before installing it. I figured the raw aluminum will get nasty before long and look like crap so I Powdercoated it a flat black to make it blend in and look better..

The 6061 aluminum we use to make the bypass kits is very corrosion resistant...The Race Pipes have been uncoated for years with no reported corrosion issues.

But you have to give him props for the powdercoat job.

Sorry, no. It would boost the price beyond what anyone would want to pay.

I will powdercoat them for umm 20.00 each as long as they are perfectly clean.. and i mean perfect.. The powdercoating isnt hard and doesnt take long but the prep does.

If anyone wants me to do it just IM me. I can do it in practically any color.

Just bear in mind that the ALH filter base and the BEW filter cap should never be disassembled. We use red locktite on the filter nipples and the plumbing fittings may not seal properly if removed.
