I have been developing a logging/Methanol injection controller for some time. The project has been afflicted with feature creep and has now grown to be a pretty powerful device.

It has the following logging/ Display features.
-Pre intercooler Pressure
-Pre intercooler Temp
-Pre intercooler Pressure
-Post intercooler Temp
-Pre Turbo exhaust Manifold Temp
-Pre Turbo exhaust Manifold Pressure
-Post Turbo AFR
-Turbo Shaft RPM
-Bluetooth connection to laptop for logging

- KW1281 communication with EDC15 currently getting following data
-RPM
-Boost Target
-IQ
-N75 duty
-MAF

Meth Controller
- Proportional Meth based on Boost
- Proportional Meth Based on EGT
- Meth Reservoir level (Feature pending)

My intention among other things is to build a compressor Map for the GTB2060. From the data I am gathering I am able calculate additional info:

- Compressor wheel Efficiency
- Turbo efficiency
- Real AFR
- Volumetric Efficiency

I am currently moving from the hot mess of wires which was the prototype to the finish version. Which is a bit nerve wracking. But looking forward to end some of the speculation around the VKLR turbo series.

I also suggest for the meth controller, coolant temp so the system doesn't run when the vehicle is cold.

I could pull that from the ECU. Tbh, I've ran meth for quite some time and never had an issue with it even when cold. Is the concern about freezing in winter?

I guess it's a preference for me. I plan on making a meth controller for my car when I do water methanol and that is one setting I want programmed.

That sounds like a cool project.
How do you measure turbo shaft rpm?

It's got some electronics built into it to reduce the frequency output by a factor of 8.

A 60 mm compressor wheel with a maximum tip speed of 500 m/s will spin at approximately 159,155 RPM

I have a 10 blade wheel

So I would have 26,525 blade passes a second.

Which the built in electronics reduce to 3,315.73 Hz. That is quite comfortable for the Arduino to measure. I imagine it also cleans the signal up some what.

In terms of mounting, i drilled a hole by eye. (There is a manual for the sensor on the internet somewhere) Left the drill bit in. Then slid down the mounting boss on the drill bit. Then welded the boss to the compressor housing. Annoyingly I can't find any pictures.

I notice that some cheaper sensors have entered the market. It doesn't look.like they have the signal conditioner built into the connector. Something to bear in mind. If someone wants to try it.
