i remember when i got my truck, it must have had 15-40 in it. when i put in 5-40 i saw performance and gas mileage climb. do you think that this would work with the new 0-30 507, or not?

506.00 is a long-life oil for pre-PD motors and therefore does not meet 505.01 requirementsGilty_one said:Does anyone know if the new VW 506.00 and VW 507.01 includes 505.01?
Went to a dealership and they were trying to tell me that 502.00 will work in my PD... I looked at him funny and said, No...please give me the 505.01.
He did look at me funny when I asked him about 506 and 507 ratings.
Yes. VW507 supercedes all previous VW diesel oil specs with 2 exceptions (V10/R5 motors built before 6/2006). It does existGilty_one said:.... Does 507.00 (if it exists) work for PD engines?
