This can pinned on the portal clan but in the end VW hired these people and they dropped the ball in my opinion. This TDI was our 4th VW and our plan was to replace it with either a new Jetta SE or a Passat R-Line. Well, with the complete run around we've gotten on this buyback we've jumped the VW ship for a while. We've still got our 05 Passat 4-Motion that we'll keep until it's dead.

Oh yeah, no doubt, but for the sake of the buyback and dieselgate in general, Ankura = VW, Bosch = VW, JP Morgan Chase = VW, and your independently owned VW dealership = VW. Even the buyback specialist who is a full time goat farmer (from another thread) = VW.

Because in the end, this is VW's problem.

Oddly, the entity that I'd acknowledge "isn't VW" is VW Credit, since VW seems to be treating them as just another lender.

Here is my latest.... Called the line to see where it was, the minimum wage worker stated "we received a fax from your credit union on the 19th. Our records show we sent your credit union a request for the payoff and we are waiting for that, can you call your credit union and give them a verbal release to tell us the payoff amount."

I asked if she sees the fax with the payoff and she says yes, I ask if they need a payoff and she says yes, I ask if she can put the two together and she says there is no where to do that.

We hung up and called back and found someone who understood the two parts were there, just needed to be merged, she asked us for the payoff amount verbally over the phone and we asked if she could read it off the fax then we could tell her over the phone, she could not do that apparently so we looked up the balance and told her over the phone. We will most likely make the next payment as we gave her the balance and not the payoff amount.

I can't wait to see what happens next, left a message for Mrs. Oh at the law office too.

Last night I called the claims, talked to some guy, but was finally able to get my claim reset after I've been trying for a month to ask them, he said he's see the notes on my account and then told his manager, maybe?, but said within 24 hrs i would be able to go in and change it, when I woke up this morning, i was shocked that i was actually able to. I wonder if it will take long for me s ce I've already had all my documents previously approved for the fix, now just switching to buyback.

It is now 90 business days to receive an offer?

Just got off the phone with the VW claims dept. Was told that the court just agreed to pushing out to 90 business days to get an offer.

Anyone else hear this?

That's fricken March 13th

Many of my forum compadre's here said to fear not. That I was in the pipeline and my day would come. Frustrated me to no end. Yet, I awoke this morning to my offer, after green check marks since 11/7. I didn't open a second claim, just a couple emails to class counsel, 1 to ankura, and a couple online chats. You soon, will be the chosen one.

And to someone starting a claim today (yes, I am sure some people out there haven't started) that puts them at the end of May. Damn. Hopefully this is just some more made up BS by a rep looking to get you off their line.

I'm going to jump in that pipeline with you this morning if you don't mind.

Thanks to the advise here I emailed both VW management and the 4 class council, bingo. Been in limbo since 11/1 - 11/14

FINALLY got my letter. Oddly enough shortly after emailing those four individuals named earlier. No response from them of course.

Granted I can't turn in until late March, so I'm still stuck with possibly totaling the car before then since it's my only vehicle.

Oh and of course the offer is based off November mileage, which is about 10k lower than I am now, and i'll probably rack up easily another 10k before my turn-in appointment. So that'll likely end up getting rescheduled due to the offer changing.

Interestingly enough, if I just got set the car on fire on a friend's property with permission, it's technically not arson....

Only if you choose a check payment is this a possibility. Are you really driving 60k miles/year?

The car's also not driveable any more, either, so you can't sell it back. And if you filed an insurance claim, you'd be committing insurance fraud. "Cutting off your nose to spite your face" comes to mind.

Followed the examples and popped off a couple emails yesterday to the ankura and vw contacts listed above. Just got back the generic "too bad for you but we are just monitoring things" email from ankura. Nothing from the vw side yet. Hopefully I will be like the others and coincidentally get an offer letter in the next day or so. Been waiting since 11/7.

Did you get an actual reply from the VW management folks? I got something like this on Friday at 18:45ET:

This email is to acknowledge the message that you’ve sent to members of the VW Executive Team regarding concerns over your claim in the 2.0L TDI Settlement.

We value you as our customer and regret that you have not been satisfied with the handling of your claim. We take all customer communications very seriously and will review the concerns that you’ve expressed over the progress of your submission.

A member of the Settlement team will be in touch after we have identified the cause and possible resolutions. Our goal is to respond to requests within 5 days.

I find this a tad late, as it was 10:28ET that same day I received the offer letter. Since that has been signed, sealed, and scheduled, I'm not really sure what they are going to offer (I'll hope for a sooner appointment but no breath holding here)

What a crazy day today!

Wow! Yesterday I was a beside myself with disappointment and concern over my salvaged Golf's claim with title in hand, which was submitted on 09/19/16.

My 2 other TDI's where financed and had offers in December. I couldn't understand why my salvaged car with no financing was still out there without an offer. The stress was they where not going to make an offer.

Well after emailing VW management and using the email address's of the claims council rep's from this thread I awoke this morning to my offer. That was great but rest of the process blew me away.

As many know I work at CarMax, so I printed out my paperwork and took it to work. Shift started at 12, so I got in early and had the doc's notarized. I used my phones CS scanner and uploaded at 11:50am. At 12:00 I received an email from VW accepting the download and moving me to booking my appointment. :)

Now my 12 SW was accepted in late December and the earliest appointment I could make was Feb 23, so I am hoping for mid March but most likely end of March. The first 5 dealers I looked at in the Charlotte region had an earliest date of March 14, and I was good with that. I checked the last one on the list and they where around the same time, but I clicked on Feb to just see and they had one day and one appt not used in Feb. So I went from nothing to a close date of Feb 9th in 1 day.

:D

Soooooo Happy!!!

Yeah, no kidding man. It's a complete mind fu*k on how, at least for myself, everything went smooth silk sheets until 11/7 and then a screeching halt for months. And yesterday was given an offer, notarized at 4pm, uploaded at 9pm, and before 11pm was able to book an appointment. What a rollercoaster. However, mid march can't come soon enough. Testing and R out tonight, it's between that and a Dodge Charger Scat Pack edition (that v8 is a 500 horse screamer!). More further apart, these cars could not be. But fun, ooooh yes.

Congrats on the approvals and becoming part of the slow growing number of the chosen few!

I sent an email to all of the addresses listed on the 23rd and got the "[FONT=&quot]Thank you for contacting the Claims Supervisor personnel at Ankura Consulting." response yesterday. Was hoping to get an offer today but no luck.

We sent the letter early last week and got absolutely nothing. Been waiting since upload on 10/31. Our lease now expires at the end of May so I assume they're just dragging out till then at this point. With the original 20 total business day timeline we figured we'd be done with this around the end of December.

What's the fax number they need to send the payoff to? I'm going to call my credit union as well, willing to try anything at this point.

Remember, anything can happen. Gave my case number to one of the lawyers tuesday, no action yet...

Is two weeks stuck on step 15 soon enough to start witching? I had the car dealer for my likely replacement call me this morning.

Not sure if it was the email I sent earlier in the week or the fact that I just had my local credit union fax in the payoff but I just got a phone call from Volkswagen auto group to conference call in to my local credit union to get a verbal payoff.

I was called with in the hour of the local branch faxing in the payoff.

number that I was called from was 248-754-3623 to get the verbal payoff.

Did you cheat on your wife or kick a kitten? Maybe your ex girlfriend is in charge of your file on the portal.

Ummmm, no.

According to the spreadsheet I'm not alone. Sold back the first one on 12/28.
