After chats and calls to portal people didn't help (I'd been stuck at #15 since Nov 8) I called the lawyers. Lawyer said he'd help. 2-3 days later nothing, so yesterday I emailed a very nice and polite and factual email letter to the 3 top VW executives: mark.mcnabb@vw.com, robert.martell@vw.com, hinrich.woebcken@vw.com head of operations, head of communications, and CEO US, respectively.
By the 5 pm yesterday a senior assistant called me back and expedited my application. I got my approval letter minutes later. Today we completed the notary work and at 5 pm my senior assistant called back and within 5 minutes I was approved for buyback. Said she, "Fastest ever!"

OK, now time for a new Alltrack!
:D:D:D
A big THANKS to Palouse for posting these 3 email addresses to email if you are having problems with the buyback. To make a long story short, I have had my documents uploaded for over 3 months not going anywhere. I had called the claim portal every week after I was told I should have offer sheet by November 14th. Kept getting the same run around oh you should have it next week Not. Emailed the lead counsel at Lieff, Cabraser Heirmann & Bernstein who emailed me back 1-7-17 and said she would get the status of my claim. A week later she had no update so I found this thread and wrote a nice letter addressed to the 3 above email addresses at 12:47 pm 1-16-17 and I received an update on my claim status at 6:00 pm from VWOA that same evening. Stating they had tried to reach my bank for a payoff that afternoon. But the bank was closed for MLK day and they would contact them the next day. Received my offer letter today at 5:55am, signed notarized and uploaded at 12:05 today, offer letter accepted 12:11 today and appointment scheduled for 2-10-17 at 12:28 today. The nightmare is over almost!
So Thanks Again

Congrats Blackbug1 on getting progress from that email. I sent mine the beginning of this week, but have yet to receive any response.

I'm back at step 15 with checkmarks...

Thanks for the email addresses. I just sent them all an email explaining my situation. I let you know how it goes.

I did however turn in my first car today. My 15 Golf. Glad to have one behind me.

Success !!

So I called and chatted again and received the the same replies - Need to be patient, they are hiring more staff to help etc..

So last night I sent off a short simple email to all of the claims supervisors:

I am wondering if you can help out with claim being stuck on step 15 for over two months now.
My claim number is XXXXXXX
Well since then I have only heard crickets and when I called support a few times the replay always was that my claim was in process.
Is there anything else I can do to speed up the process?

Thank you.

I fired off a "reply all" to the execs in my email from Monday, no reply, but 90 minutes later I receive my offer letter. Coincidence? Who knows... and it is still dated November 8th. Oh well. It's a couple hundred more than the initial estimate, maybe because I haven't moved the car? I'll be getting this back to them by tomorrow, crossing fingers on a good buyback date.

I was lucky to have someone with a notary that works in my office.
Ditto, kind of... if I worked in the office, there's a notary a few desks over from where my team sits. Instead, I work virtually from home. Having a five foot commute reduces the need for TDI mileage in the car.

Also, while I finally have my offer letter (notarized and returned) the wait isn't over. I just scheduled my buyback date, and the first appointment is March 9th... so while I have a date, that is still 48 days out, meaning that will be (mental math here) a mere 126 days from when my documents were approved.

And again for comparison, my husband's docs were approved on 11/15 and buyback completed 12/23.

Well I got an email tonight that they had all of the documents necessary to to determine my eligibility(i.d., title, form to allow the loan company to talk to them). I'll check the portal monday or so. I'm trying to put serious brakes on the number of miles that I drive so that I can stay in the bracket. That's not going to be easy as I only have the one vehicle and my typical mileage has been 450 miles a week or so. 200 of those miles are me either going to the nearest metro city(New Orleans) or going to see my elderly parents in a different town that is almost the same distance.

Oh dang, that's right, you switched from fix. It'll be interesting to see how quickly they can get you an offer. About 10 weeks total from accepted to offer for me. Maybe since you were in the system already it'll be faster.

Yes I switched when yet another $500 repair cropped up(stuck intake flap) then I figured out that all repairs occurred after that emissions software flash that the did before the emissions story broke to the public. Then I realized that the fix if it ever was accepted would put an even greater strain on the emissions system. Couple that with the 3 mpg average loss after the software update and I couldn't make the math workout. My favorite saying at work was "you can avoid math but it won't avoid you "

So I got called my CU last Saturday to see if VW had contacted them about a playoff quote and they said yes, VW asked for a quote the day earlier. Then on Monday night, I get the "contact your back so we can get a payoff quote" email from VW. So I decided to call claims to see if they can confirm that there was a payoff quote on my claim. Well, apparently the claims people can't see that info my claim.

I contact by CU again on Thursday and they said there has been 2 payoff quotes given to VW. 1 the Friday before and 1 on Monday. So I call VW claims again. After trying to talk to 3 different people, the last lady said that my offer letter was generated on Monday, I'm assuming after the 2nd payoff quote but it has to go through audit.

Can anyone give me a timeframe on how long the audit for my offer letter is going to take? I've had green checkmarks since Nov 10 and all I want to do is get this buyback finished.

I've had green checkmarks since Nov 8th and nothing. :(
I don't think there's a "timeframe" other than whenever VW and their hired flunkies get around to it.

Well I called Vw again today to find out if I was lied to again the last time I called and I guess I was , so today I was told I now need to have my credit union send VW my payoff amount. I told her I have had my release form sent in to VW since 10/30/16 , she gives me a line about that has changed and they need my credit union to fax it to them. You have to be one messed up individual to look for a job where all you do is make sh!t up all day just to get people off the phone, but being the poor sap that I am I will send my credit union the blank form and have them fax it on monday.

The quality of people answering the phone and the switch from truly trying to get answers has changed dramatically.

I think they are hiring anyone now and they all just try to get you off the phone with some lines they have been told to use.

I had someone last week that I am telling you could barely hold a conversation. Really had little or no ability to stammer out a intelligible sentence.

I was really surprised and felt sorry for the guy. After I knew he had no chance of helping, I cut it short and thanked him for his time.

I used to work for a web hosting provider. They hired this one batch of people to answer phones and chats and...oh my gosh, it was such a terrible time. They did not use proper grammar. One actually tried to "axe" a customer a question in chat. The general rule during those dark times was "numbers > all". Tell the customer ANYTHING to get them off the phone as quickly as possible. Find a ticket - any ticket, no matter how old - and add a note to it. Bonus points if the agent actually remembered to set the ticket to OPEN. And the end result of all this? Ticket wait times skyrocketed from a few minutes / hours to multiple MONTHS for a reply. Good job, folks. And because of all this, a bunch of the talented folks who actually worked the tickets ended up quitting.
It's kind of sad when the outsourced India folks sent better replies than the frontline chat / phone people. Sure, they didn't actually answer the question asked, but at least the India replies were clear and used proper grammar! haha

All this to say...
Quality of workers has really gone downhill. If all you care about is speed of getting people off the phones / chats (Numbers! Numbers! Numbers), then there will be no incentive to actually properly answer questions and take pride in your work.

Also, still sitting on green checks since Nov 8th. Sent another reminder email to my "class counsel" asking for the update I was supposed to get last week.

Yes the number she gave me for the fax was 248-754-6602

ETA:
I just called VW back to make sure what info my credit union needed to fax them, this morning they said it would be faster to have the credit union call them and relay the account number, payoff and next scheduled appointment. I am skeptical because all I have seen is for the faxing of the info so will update if it works.

ETA: Just got a call from my credit union and VW will not talk to them so the y could not give any info to them, so I guess we will try the fax instead.

I can confirm that emailing the addresses listed above does seem to produce results. After being stuck at step 15 forever, and having to submit proof of previous registration (another thread), and getting nowhere with the claims line/chat--- I sent an email this morning and had an offer by noon.

My offer letter is dated Jan 11, and it looks like my payoff was pulled today.

Just a heads up. Good luck to everyone stuck in limbo.

I've been waiting since 7 November for an offer letter.

If my boss had given me a task to complete, and told me 20 duty days till it needed to be done, and I was over 50 duty days since with no action having been completed, my commander would be so far up my rectum I'd need surgical removal.

I fired an email off to the four "supervisors" first to see what's what. If that doesn't get traction, I'll utilize the three at VW itself.

MASSIVE THANKS TO THE FOLKS WHO SHARED THAT CONTACT INFORMATION!!!

To which, the consulting people or to VW?

I emailed both groups and just got a generic reply from the VW people saying "yea, yea, we'll get to you"

It produced results for you, and possibly others. I emailed them last Wednesday with the same short boilerplate suggested above, and Sunday I got a canned response...

"Dear Mr. ------,
Thank you for contacting Marc Ferzan and other Claims Supervisor personnel at Ankura Consulting.

We have been appointed by the Court to serve as the independent Claims Supervisor to oversee Volkswagen’s progress and compliance with the settlement. Among other things, the Claims Supervisor has the responsibility to monitor Volkswagen’s compliance with the claims process in accordance with the express terms of the Resolution Agreements submitted by the parties and approved by the Court.

Please understand that we do not work for Volkswagen and we are not administering the claims process. The Claim Supervisor will continue to monitor each claim that Volkswagen receives, as well as the company’s timeliness in the review process, and report the results so that issues related to Volkswagen’s compliance with the Resolution Agreements may be addressed by the parties with the Court.

Because Volkswagen is administering the claims process, only they may provide information for specific claims. Therefore, we ask that you reach out directly to Volkswagen’s customer support center for information on your situation. We are aware that Volkswagen is experiencing delays with claimants who have third party loans. If you are within this category, that is you do not have a loan with Volkswagen Credit Inc. or Audi Financial Services, you may wish to contact Volkswagen’s support center and navigate through the following prompts offered by the Hotline: 1-1-2.

If you still have questions regarding your claim or the claim process more generally, you may choose to confer with Class Counsel, as they have been appointed to represent you in this matter. We see you already have the contact information for Class Counsel (info@vwclasscounsel.com) and we have cc'd them on this message as well.

We appreciate your correspondence and providing us valuable insight into the Volkswagen claims program consumer experience. We will certainly take your comments into consideration as we undertake our ongoing reporting responsibilities.

Thank you again for your correspondence.
Sincerely,
Ankura Consulting Group, LLC"

This was the response I received when I forwarded them an email where I reached out to class counsel on 5 different occasions, all of them to fall on deaf ears and keyboards. However, I also did as they instructed. I called my lender, and provided them with my financial release paper. They said they didn't need it, as they would provide my payoff info (which at claim start was 2k, and is now 0 and the title is sitting on my counter. Called vw, they said you need to give your lender authorization, I said my lender doesn't need my consent to give you payoff amount. vw, then said, and I quote "If your lender doesnt require your consent or authorization, then you're simply going to need to be patient until that final step is complete before your offer is generated."

I've had my green check marks since 11/7. At first I saw no problem staying with the brand because everything up to that point had moved smoothly. After being jerked around this long, I believe it's going to be "So long VW, it's been real."

It's unfortunate VW is electing to be noncommunicative.

Clearly they've blown their published timelines.

In the absence of an updated timeline, you the owner gets to choose what's an acceptable delay, and what is unacceptable.

If VW would simply state, "We're overextended. Expect 10 weeks from docs accepted to offer," you'd probably be very comfortable (not saying happy) with where you are in the process.

I'm suggesting 10 weeks because that's what it took for my offer. Maybe for you it'll be longer, maybe shorter. But most likely, you're in the pipeline and they didn't forget about you.

To save your sanity, I'm tossing this out there as a buoy to cling to. Set your expectations on another month of waiting, which is probably realistic, and you'll be pleasantly surprised if something comes earlier.

The poor folks who have been waiting 129 days are definitely outliers, not the norm.
