Spoke with a claims specialist today.

Documents submitted on 11/28
Documents approved on 11/30
Passed Auditor on 12/13
Waiting for offer letter. The specialist said that everything looked fine but just have to wait for the generation of the offer letter.

In other news, I ran into a woman in my office who has a TDI. She already purchased a TSI to replace it with. I was really surprised how knowledgeable she was about the diesels. She's not hard on the eyes either :) Think I might be in love. haha

Ok, I'll play along here.... the short and narrow of it is:

docs approved and green check to step 15 on 11/7
auditor approved (this is what 2 separate claims people said) 11/17
and nothing since then as I am supposed to be patient for my offer to be generated.

Only registrant with title in hand. Sigh.

As has been said before, use another email address, use your same VIN and create an additional portal registration and upload documents.

that is what worked for me.

What didn't work for me:

Registering on portal 9/1/2016
Calling Claim number
Calling VWOA
Calling Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, LLP
Writing letter to VWOA
Waiting (worst idea of all if you want anything to happen)

This is unreal...

TDJ: @VW @vwcares @FTC Day 69 and now need PRIOR REGISTRATION for my #TDIbuyback (not needed to approve our other car)? #*** #TDIOwnersUnite UGH!

My car and my husband's car, both submitted with the same documents. Day 69 since getting the docs approved email, now they suddenly kick it out wanting a prior registration? I'm sorry VW but I don't keep a document like that laying around after it expired on 12/31/2015. I sent you my current (then valid) registration. Process my claim.

Just posting my experience with this here:
My docs were approved early on November 8th, then I never heard anything again. I called last Friday, January 6th to ask what was happening and the agent on the phone said "I'm so sorry, you should have had your offer letter by now". He then went on to say that he would get right on it. I didn't have much confidence in this but this morning I received the offer letter. I signed it and had it notarized and sent back within the hour. We will see how long the next step takes. So, if someone isn't getting anywhere just waiting, try giving them a call.
Not sure if this info has already been posted in this thread, but thought I would add.
Just to update this, I had an email about 2 hours after I sent the notarized docs back about setting up my buyback appointment. February 25th is my appointment...going to miss this car. It's been sitting for about 4 months, but not because I chose to park it. I got a new job with a company vehicle that I can use for personal use and all my fuel is paid for so I just haven't had to drive the Golf. I'll still miss it though :(

Before reading this post I had tried that "trick". Unfortunately I received an email back in December stating that I had submitted duplicate claims (same VIN) and they cancelled the "newest" one.
As for the "old" one, docs marked green on Nov 4, title in hand, still waiting for an offer.

Good for you. I called after I saw your post, also approved on 11/08, so far no update or offer. I hate VW

So I have an experiment going and we will see which wins lol I loaded my docs on my 2015 passat se on 12/20 and my Audi A3 premium plus sline on 10/25 let see which gets bought back first the early adopter or the late. I originally planned to keep the Passat till next summer but with the length of time the Audi was taking figured I may as well start the process and hope it gets turned back in by the summer.

A3
Docs 10/25
Green Check Marks 11/16

Passat
Docs 12/20
Green Check Marks 12/27
So this went down exactly as I thought it would. I got my offer on the Passat today and still nothing about the A3 that was filed two months earlier. I think I'm going to reset the A3 claim and see if it speeds it up.

Count me in, Doc accepted and green checkmarked on 11/10/2016.
Two months yesterday :(
Worried about resubmitting on another e-mail and messing things up worse with VW who can't seem to keep things straight as it is.

They do know how to keep our loyalty though don't they!

Same thing happened to me this week. Faxed back, I don't have it, and they marked the request 'document complete - green check'. I suspect back to the end of the line.

After chats and calls to portal people didn't help (I'd been stuck at #15 since Nov 8) I called the lawyers. Lawyer said he'd help. 2-3 days later nothing, so yesterday I emailed a very nice and polite and factual email letter to the 3 top VW executives: mark.mcnabb@vw.com, robert.martell@vw.com, hinrich.woebcken@vw.com head of operations, head of communications, and CEO US, respectively.
By the 5 pm yesterday a senior assistant called me back and expedited my application. I got my approval letter minutes later. Today we completed the notary work and at 5 pm my senior assistant called back and within 5 minutes I was approved for buyback. Said she, "Fastest ever!"

OK, now time for a new Alltrack!

We will see, I just resubmitted under another email...

Claim started at 12:20 today
Docs submitted at 12:37
Docs accepted at 7:16 PM tonight

I'll keep it updated, not sure if we need to start a thread... Maybe a way to specify on the Google spreadsheet a 2nd submission for the same car, I'll add it anyway as another car.

Glad you were able to break through this craziness! Class counsel attorney told me she had requested an update from VW's counsel, and that I should receive an update by early next week. I will most definitely email these three VW execs if I don't hear anything from her by then. Thank you for posting this information!!

I just sent an email to the VW folks mentioned by Palouse-here's to hoping it works! Of course I was told on 1-10-17 by a claims rep that my Docs were accepted 11-28-16 by both VW and Ankura but the wait times were currently 20 days +2-3 weeks and I am halfway through that. But, we all know that song and dance......

FINALLY !!! Got the letter this morning early. Stopped by the bank to get notarized, sent it in to VW, approved and I have a turn-in date...all in one day!!! They must really be getting the letters out because my turn in isn't until MARCH 9th ! That's ok... I'll have another months more $. The car is parked-hasn't been driven since July.

Glad to see more people are getting offers, sucks to see that appointments are so far out. I sent my registration back via fax as requested, as well as a ton of other docs to say hey this has been my car since new... will it work? Who knows.

Just uploaded my notarized offer letter. I'm hoping that my turn in date will be earlier than March.

What a bummer. Earliest date is 2/27/17 for turning in.

From uploading the offer letter to getting an appointment was 3 hours. Not bad.

I should start cleaning out the old jetta now.

It might have worked (or I've finally done my time!), received a phone call from the escalation department yesterday at 3 that said they were returning my call for an update on my claim. Mind you I have never asked for a call back. After a few missed calls back and forth, William from the escalation team told me they were working on my offer and I should receive my offer by Monday or Tuesday and if not Imcould call back on Wednesday and ask for the escalation department. My offer letter came today at 6am via email and the offer is exactly what it should have been. Letter was dated yesterday with a loan pay off date of 1/28/17, of course I made a payment yesterday and I probably won't turn it in before at least one more payment is made. Does anyone know if they have a notary at the VW dealership generally? My husband works all weekend, trying to figure out how to get this thing wrapped up!

Hello
Submitted on 0ct 30 and green check marks on 11/1/16 , I've been waiting and finally got a hold of someone at Vw on the 2nd of January.I was told I would receive my offer via mail in 5 business day's , well nothing came and yesterday I called again to check on the status. I was told by another Lady that the first Lady should have never said that and I was not going to be getting a letter in the mail, she said the best she could do is take some info down and try and have a manager call me sometime.
I purchased a new vehicle at the end of November thinking my buyback would be done in December, still sitting here paying for 2 vehicles now and wishing this whole fiasco would end sometime this year !!!!
