So what will the turn in condition need to be for a lease vehicle? Will it still get the same turn inspection it would get if turned in at the true end of the lease?
yes, the lease is just ending sooner, no other conditions are changing. So what will the turn in condition need to be for a lease vehicle? Will it still get the same turn inspection it would get if turned in at the true end of the lease?
Did you use a basic VW HU or a cheapie aftermarket unit?I have swapped my touchscreen nav unit for a basic am/fm/cd unit (so there's no gaping hole in the dash).

It nets you absolutely zero on the trade-in. I returned my car with "powdered sugar", all over the front carpet, sand and dirt all over the monster mats and dried leaves and other detritus in the trunk. This is from someone that runs a boutique detailing business on the side as well. Once the buy back hit, the maintenance stopped. You're a better man than I am.Sure, I completely get keeping the car clean for your own sake. If I'm driving the car, I like it to be clean (though I'll admit I don't always keep it that way). I get detailing the car before trading it in, as that's likely to influence what you get in trade-in value. But I don't see the point in spending hours detailing the car immediately before turning it in for the buyback. To each his own, I guess.
You're an astute man bizzle, very astute . Buy back process is officially done. Why is powdered sugar in quotes...were you doing rails or something? :O
If this is one of the cars with a 4 inch hole drilled in the engine block -- what is the diff?why would you keep the owners manuals? It's so obnoxious to buy a car that doesn't come with one.

No TDIs are getting a hole drilled in the engine block. Please don't repeat this incorrect information. If this is one of the cars with a 4 inch hole drilled in the engine block -- what is the diff?
But what if it isn't ? I agree- that is one thing that REALLY pisses me off - no owner's manual. When I bought my "CPO" Beetle in March 2003, I asked about it and the dealership had to scramble to find one... It's one reason I'm not too keen on buying a used vehicle anymore....
No owner's manual is second only to not having all the keys.As (when) I have sold my used cars on the curb, I DO include the manual.
As far as you buying new cars to get your manual - great.
As far as you buying a (future) "CPO", you might ask to see only cars WITH a manual, before your test drive anything.
Or just plan on buying one off the net.
As far as the vw buy back is concerned, does anyone know for sure what is going to happen to the units?
With out a "FIX" ~~ they will not be driven????
My car had been mildly side-swiped and banged up the passenger door and fender, but was still safe to drive. I pulled out the fender with a pry bar so the tire wouldn't rub at full lock.
I hit a rock on the freeway that cracked my a/c condenser and compressor.
Car just hit 100k and coming up on timing belt service.
My appointment took
got cut off in the middle of the sentence?
Guessing everything went ok on the turn-in?
I finally got my offer, and my car is not banged up or anything so my return will not be anything interesting.
Any others with wrecks that got turned in without issue?
Have seen stories of the intentional damages getting push back from VW.
