Tuning ridiculousness...

Did a turbo upgrade on my buddy's nephew's 05 mk4 jetta. 1752 from X man. Car already had pd150 injectors and was tuned previously by tdtuning (nldb?) Anyway, having a very hard time finding someone to retune the thing. Malone wants $2000!!! For a "custom tune". Kerma won't do it unless we install their upgraded injectors. WTH happened? Beyond frustrated at this point.

We have a tuner here who has already proved his worth in the MK4 world. I wouldn't mess with any other tuner for a custom tune.

04 Jetta TDI Upgrades? (BEW)

I recently just bought an 04 Jetta TDI manual. Loving the car and the gas mileage I’m getting but I’m wondering what are some upgrades I can do to get some more power out of it? I’m not looking for crazy power or anything just a little more kick. Everything on the car is completely stock.

What did you do to your MKIV today?

What does your boost gauge say, or VCDS logs of requested vs actual? I'd love to get a boost guage installed eventually, right now the specified to actual seems within range, up until I floor it. The ECU triggers limp mode, and then the numbers are obviously way below specified until I shut it...

i will be very soon. i have some 1043+100s to go in wifes car. i just need more time in a day. the pd150 injector tune won't huge amount of work (factory maps are freely available for euro pd150 like ARL), it's just a matter of putting it together and sanity testing it, improving on it there's a couple people i know who want this, i just haven't gotten the time yet. sometime within next couple weeks tho... fwiw.

Oh, I totally missed the PD150 injectors. I thought it was stock injectors and kerma wanted upgraded injectors before tuning the car.

I think Mike is working with Malone...at least he was last I heard. There are still tuning options....just not as many as we once enjoyed.

I've got the PD150 injectors and a larger turbo. Moline custom tuning. Not really too happy with it. Multiple revisions and still a little too smoky for my taste.

Can't wait until burpod officially supports PD engines

Dirty Throttle Tuning (me) or Tekmektronics (@BustedBolts ) are options who will happily tune PDs with PD150 (073AL) injectors and other modifications

Personally I was surprised at Malone changing from CAD to USD this go around (presumably with the switch to the tunezilla brand). What used to be about $400 CAD now goes for much more. Wrote off my VE and got a CR so it looks like choices for tuners are limited. So far at least I've been getting pretty good service from Malone. Plus, they've made it very easy to make adjustments to the tune as required.
