@Twinkieflyer A 2015 Jetta is not the same platform as a 2015 Golf. The Golf is on the (then) new MQB while the Jetta was on the older PQ35 (someone correct me if I'm wrong on that, I don't have one 😁).

The place you're dealing with could very well be correct for that platform. The Jetta didn't migrate to MQB until the 2018 model year I think.

2019* but otherwise correct :).

...which hit the showrooms in 2018. But yeah - model year 2019 for the MQB Jetta.
(I was shocked that it took that long, given the Golf made the transition way back in 2015 here in NAR; and as far back as 2013 in EU.)

So... is there no component protection on PQ35? And are immo deletes a thing with those?
Not that I have any interest in one, but I am curious.

No component protection on PQ35 I can attest to that, since I just changed the head unit in my 2015 Passat to a Chinese one, and it was just plug and play

It seems to be a Chinese VW unit. In any case both Passat here and whatever the name over in China are both a variant of PQ35 platform, and the Gateway is basic, like the ones in pre-mk7 cars

So is the consensus that I can have a unit cloned to my ecu and either unit would work in this 2015 Jetta TDI?
It’s going to be expensive, but I will bear it. 799 for the cloned ecu and then the 600 tune on top of that.
