Trusted TDI Mechanics - By State

Can anyone recommend a TDI guru near the metro Detroit area ? I can't get the "trusted tdi" document to open for some reason. I normally use KSmitty out of Ohio but I don't think he does TDI work anymore.
Don't need anything major this time, or in a huge hurry. Just need to get my GP's working properly and maybe check the timing.

I too had a very nice experience with Kirk Blackmore. I am a TDI and VW newbie so have a lot to learn. Kirk was very nice, willing to explain things and very accommodating. does a great job too. He is just a jolly good guy! Wish he had more time on his schedule for TDI work!

I have been working on Volkswagens for over 20 years. I have experience working on MkIII thru MkVI TDI's. I utilize VCDS with a HEX+CAN cable. I have DSG service tools and supplies. I have many TDI special tools and always take the time to do the job right. I work out of my garage/shop so my fees are very reasonable.

Just picked up my 09 Jetta from Mark (AHUTDI), he did my timing belt service, DSG service, installed my panzer plate, and even fixed up the insulation on the underside of my hood. He does some great work at great prices, I'll definitely be going back to him for things I can't handle. Worth the beautiful drive for anyone in the DC metro area!

Seconding ButlerNative90 above. Everything Euro in Winston-Salem has moved to 3190 Peters Creek Parkway, to a much bigger 5-bay shop. They generally only work on VW and Audi, and are lifelong expert enthusiast level techs. They've fixed a number of issues on my '96 Passat TDI that another shop did puzzled, mediocre work on. They're brutally honest, and LOVE what they do. Rates are reasonable and fair. Owner Tom Landock grew up around his dad's obsession with VW, and well and truly internalized it. The main technician, Walt, is a highly certified VW-trained tech, and is the TDI guru there. I highly recommend them, without reservation. They also host a GTG one evening a month, which is great company and food and VW talk.

I too have to vouch for the guys over at Everything Euro in Winston Salem NC. I've tried some other local shops with my cars and Tom and his crew are the best around. My in-laws just had a bunch of service done there for the second visit and now they plan their Jetta's maintenance around visits from FL to NC just to use this shop. That should tell you enough right there.

Keith St. Laurent is in the process of moving to Powhatan, VA, but is still working on TDIs at his place in CT part time. I have updated his email address.

Oliver did my 2003 Jetta's timing belt today. He seems like a nice guy and a good mechanic. Did a good job, while I waited and answered several questions I had about the car and engine. His price was very reasonable and I would recomend him. I would certainly use him for work again.

I am currently the TDI Expert/specialist at German Performance Options. I have certifications from the Volkswagen factory training center in Chattanooga relating to TDI's. experience with all VW/audi TDI engines.

currently have a Compound turbo setup ALH in the works. needs final tuning and larger injectors but is driving down the road. But i am more than capable of taking on any custom work, tuning, and service/maintenance .

Aaron was a great mechanic, he drives all audis and tdis and has been working on only these cars for 25 years. He was very customer service oriented but also knew the car inside and out. He was innovative when we figured out the problem which saved me a lot of time and money. Basically I was having some low power issues and I figured it was MAF and something else. He found the vacuum leak from a broken inlet on the valve cover from some other horrible mechanic. Technically I needed a new valve cover but he was able to design a seal that fixed the problem and got me back on the road asap. He did a pretty thorough check up on my car and said he would have done more if it were not just before xmas. He then tuned my car with the malone tune and dynamic egr. The car is great and I think he deserves to be on this list.
