Additional TDI capability in Georgia!
I can't speak highly enough about Roger Feldt but many of you know that he is excellent. As a result Roger stays busy. Isaac Webb is also a Delta mechanic and a car enthusiast. Roger referred me to Isaac for a needed clutch change. Isaac did an excellent job and replaced the driver's window and regulator & motor as well. I am very happy with the work and the fee was very reasonable for quality work. Way under dealer cost and better than jobber quotes I got from local shops with less VW/TDI expertise.

I think Isaac is early in his auto wrenching for hire career so it may be premature to bestow the title of "guru" but he can & does consult with Roger as needed. The important thing is Isaac is trustworthy and does quality work. He won't let anything out that he isn't fully satisfied with.

97OT: this reminds me of some advice that I received long ago and that I've passed along whenever I could.

If you happen to be in a part of the country, or in another country, where there are no genuine TDI specialists or even VW experts, then you need to find the best local mechanic that you can. There are people especially in the small towns and cities who know who is the best -- sometimes it is the tow truck drivers who know this, or the auto parts salesmen.

When my car had a breakdown about five years ago, it was the tow truck driver who told me who was the best local mechanic. Then, that guy said he was too busy to work on my car, but recommended a young guy who had just opened his own shop. That young fellow had trained on diesel engines at a vo-tech, but had little or no experience with Volkswagens. Still, he did excellent work at a very reasonable price. I helped by locating and ordering the parts, and I found someone willing to loan a special tool. But he did the work and did it pretty well, all things considered.

So if you're out in the boondocks, try to identify the very best mechanic in the area even if he rarely if ever works on Volkswagens. He undoubtedly has access to shop manuals online and can follow directions, and he will have most of the necessary tools.

Was trying to avoid the $50+ cost of replacing the bolts and getting the subframe realigned properly.

right now the transmission mount is hanging up on the drivers side, have the engine pushed forward.

Remove the mount... 3 (horizontal) bolts that should be replaced... (although many shops do not do this...)

not the actual mount, just the flat secton that it attaches to is hanging up on drivers side and I have been told that I have to actually drop that end so it comes out, just do not know how to drop that end since there is so little room.

They have always done me good on Mercedes Diesels but they love to work on TDI's and only did and recommended work that was necessary. Not a mod shop. They do VW-VAG, Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Volvo

I am not affiliated with them in any way. They also stock some maintenance parts in case you are in a hurry and cannot wait for online suppliers.

PS: Work done on mine was turbo replacement and intake cleaning. Timing, MAF and Actuator was inspected as well and injector lines tightened. When they do a TB change, they do the whole 100K kit incl water pump plus also replace the tensioner on the alternator and the Serpentine Belt and the same or lower price than regular belt jobs in town.

Just brought my 2011 Jetta TDI 6-speed to JA Autowerks in Shrewsbury NJ for my 40K service. Ive been calling dealerships and local shops who deal with TDIs and have experience with our vehicles for over 2 weeks. By far he had the lowest price of $375 for a full 40K service directly by the book from VW. I actually got to talk to John for a good 45 minutes since i got there early. He is a very cool and laid back guy who knows his stuff. He was actually able to list everything the 40k service included without the need to look at the book. I could automatically tell that he has experience with TDIs before since had a few of them waiting for service outside the shop. He's very fair price wise and is a certified tech. Ill recommend him to anyone in the local area looking for performance/service work!

I too can vouch for Isaac Webb in Georgia and he can be added to the list. i am thrilled with his work. My dealer wanted $2,200 to "replace" my injection pump on my 2003 Jetta. Isaac did the seal job for a fraction of this and was able to do it quickly which got me back on the road. My Jetta will be going back to him or Roger depending who has availability.

These folks are by far the best specialized VW shop in Jacksonville Florida. They will take you into the shop and show you everything that they need to work on...sometimes while they work on it. They will prove to you that a repair needs to be done and never BS you into paying for uneeded repairs. They are far cheaper than their competitors and have a much friendlier and informative staff than the dealerships in the area. A great shop!
