Alphasenior is the man

I had Alphasenoir (with the help of Bulldogger1) do my TB yesterday and was very impressed with the level of knowledge that both had. I have never seen such patience and skill as Alphasenior. They took the time to explain and show everything that they were doing so I would have a better understanding of these little cars. If you are in the Dallas area and need any work/diagnostics on your VW, I would strongly recommend Alphasenior because you can't go wrong.

Anyone have contact info for David Brubaker?

I am hoping he is still working on TDIs and is in the NEPA area...there are 32 David Brubakers in Pa. With such good recommendations I would rather go to him than a dealer any day. I'm in Stroudsburg, have 84k on my 03 TDI, and will be needing service soon(brakes, TB, check clutch, install new panzer skid plate, maybe more...)

Dave at courtesy is a good mechanic. He knows the gassers well. I'm sure he knows TDI but I don't know any of his TDI clients. I send him a lot of VR6, 2.0 customers though. I deal with 1.8T and TDI only. He has been a VW mechanic for a long time and I send him stuff I can't do as well. A good mechanic will always admit when he's not got the tools or is over his head. I'd rather it was done RIGHT than half-arsed.

I need a recomendation for a dealership in San Diego. I got a check engine light tonight on the way home.

I pulled away from a stop light and did not have any power. After about 25 or 50 yards the car came alive with a HUGE cloud of black smoke out the tail pipe.

Problem was a San Diego motorcycle cop was behind me, he followed me for a short while but I was real carefull about keeping to the limit.

If anybody in PA,NY, or other bordering states within 4-6 hours driving time, Metalman is THE man for TB work or R&R of injection pumps-there could be more items, but those are the 2 items I've had experience w/ Dennis the last 2 years.Last March he did my pump & TB- pump was wrong, put old pump back in and it lasted till this year(leaking shaft seal)-he redid the whole shebang today(R&R pump,TB kit, and an oil cooler seal)-pump was right this time!EXCELLENT,EXCELLENT,EXCELLENT!!!!!!! Great price and quick work!!! Many thanks also go out to BleachedBora(Aaron) for helping me get hooked up w/ a pump super quick!!!

What does it take to get a shop added to the list? One of the 5 techs I listed on the last page in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia responded to a new TDI owner in the thread listed below after the owner was upset after finding out about an estimate and everybody who read the whole topic came out thanking the tech for his good job.
