trunk water leak

really need your help guys,

the water is pouring in the trunk of my MK3 just above the right hinge

and for those who live in Metro Vancouver, we all know it rains alot here, so there is a small lake in the spare tire well

is there some sort of gasket or attachment on the car body the trunk lid gasket looks good

any suggestions??

Can you post some pics of the inside/outside of the area, sometimes if you look hard enough you might be able to trace the water marks to the source of the leak

just an update, turned out to be both the rear light seals

replaced, no water

The tail light seals are a common problem. You description of water leaking near the hinge had me curious. Good to see it was an easy fix.
