I have an 03 Alh Jetta and my trunk just stopped opening. It won't open with the button inside, the button on the key or with the actual key itself. The lights flash like normal but it won't unlatch. Is it just the actuator that I will need to replace?

Without taking it apart you can't say for sure, but the trunk latch is a common failure point. There are several aftermarket repair kits. I got mine years ago from AARodriguez (now TuneMyEuro) but I see them on eBay and other sites too.

This is a known problem. The wires crack in the rear of the trunk, you have to cut the rubber protective tubing and rewire it around the bend. It's usually located closest to the rear windshield right after where the wires are held onto the rear trunk latch
