From the Truedelta.com data it seems the the Sportwagen TDI is getting better for the 2013 and 2012 model years, compared to 2010 and 2011:

Interestingly, if you look at the older Jetta Diesels (early 2000s), it doesn't seem they were significantly better. I'm not sure how that meshes (or not) with the lore on this site of the older diesels being better and more reliable machines.
But the main news is that the TDI Sportwagens seem to be now solidly at the good end of the reliability spectrum.
