Transmission swap wiring issue

So i put a 5speed in a 2001 beetle, all done just need it to start, turn the key and nothing :/ I havent done anything with the wiring, I tryed just jumping the red/yellow with the gray/red
still no power to starter

help
Ps i have non of the clutch switchs dont care to use them.

it prolly wont start unless it thinks the clutch is depressed (NSS) or the auto shifter is in park there is normally a little switch on the shifter not sure about vw but alot of cars have this switch

lol....

Dude....you need to do the wiring in the ECU, recode it and add the relay. You'll get nothing otherwise. There is no shortcutting it to get it to work. Follow the instructions in the thread.

Ya I did fallow the instructions, some of the colors of the wires where diffrent colors... but I figured it out with a multimeter till I got it. was a good learning expreance, I will be doing it again shortly on a Black jetta wagon, Ill take some pics when i do it :p

Later cars have different wiring colors. mid 01' seems to be the change point.
