Hi,

is it possible to get the transmission out of the car for a clutch replacement without taking the wheels off and just driving it on plastic ramps?

I have a gravel driveway and running out of options to jack the car up safely.

Thanks.

Be very careful. Plastic ramps used on gravel have been known to break and collapse. They are designed for solid (e.g. concrete) surfaces.

the ramps probably won't be tall enough to slide the trans out ...start with a level surface get a good set of jack stands and set them on heavy plywood squares if working on anything other than concrete ... secure the rear with the parking brake and wheel chocks ...

Thanks, I think I'll bite the bullet and get a better jack and jack stands, the ones I have won't lift very high.
Already got some thick plywood for support.

Was able to borrow a better jack and made some podiums out of 2x4 and plywood to raise the jack stands. Now let the "fun" begin tomorrow ;)
