Hello everyone been asking quite a few questions lately on my 2012 Passat tdi 2.0 sel, 151,000 miles trying to figure out how to check transmission fluid and best way to change it. Do I have to drop tranny pan along with filter and start fresh or can I add tranny fluid somewhere ?

There are just too many to list....
Search for DSG service.

Essentially, you replace a cartridge filter that lives under the battery tray area (air cleaner assembly, battery, battery tray have to come out), then you drain the fluid from underneath, first with the drain plug, then INSIDE the drain plug is another threaded insert that gets removed, then you fill it through the drain hole with a special fixture (lots of modern automatics are like this).

Mightyvac has a nice tool for this, and the attachment kit comes with the one for the 02E DSG that your car uses.

It has a 40k mile service interval.
