I can't get into 1st gear. It is like something is blocking the linkage. All the other gears work fine and drive ok.

Check out the cable adjustment and the condition of the shift tower bushings which can get very rough shape over time. Otherwise it may be internal on the selector "gear". If it gets even slightly burred up from a bad shift it won't allow the chosen gear to engage, it will feel "locked out". Not an easy fix, I've done one.

I'll check that out this weekend. It goes in all the other gears fine sofar.
