Thanks.... I like to have one so I can figger out what and where things are.I am kinda suprised it didnt have one, previous title was issued to Volkswagen of America strange huh ?feels brand new....hope i didnt buy a recall or something. I dont know if I love this car yet,but compared to my barebones mini it feels pretty luxurious, and alot smoother on the highway...didnt vibrate my teeth out @90mph

from my (albeit limited) experience with the coopers, highway vibration wasn't a problem. Maybe just tires way out of balance, bent rim, etc. I hope you didn't trade it in just b/c of that. They're great cars for urban drivers who do the occassional highway/road trip.

That aside, welcome! Glad you like the TDI! Seems like you ended up with a good trade.

no just some minor problems with the mini (a little too mini for me, throw in groceries, dog and wine and no room for any thing else, even with the seats down, plus never got above 32 mpg even on the highway,TDI made one way trip from San Deigo to utah on little more than half a tank and got 40+ mpg ...plus I can fold one seat down and put the dog in the trunk never have done that before

Regular Cooper or was it an "S"?

If I didn't drive 500+ miles a week I would have really considered getting a Cooper S...heard they are a lot of fun!

Regular cooper, my friend has the S, much nicer, alot more perks but the back can get stuffy without the dual sunroof that vents ,also mine was well... a little cheesy I thought in the interior, but loved the way it handled and externally looked...but no room inside for little things like a place to set your cell phone other than in the cup holder which was tiny. But it was cool to be a part of the mini club kinda hard to steer, shift and wave though when my average speed around town was 50.

5-door, 5-speed Golf GLS replaced BeetleGo.
I think Manuel was the guy who built your car.
Or was it Pedro?

Welcome to the board. You're welcome to make typos. Just don't think you'll ever get away with it!

In England, the Minis have the best depreciation figures of all cars (i think). There was so much hype that many people bought them new and sold them a year later for nearly the same as they paid. Tells me something when they sell a car after a year.

Wonder what they bought?

Don't know if the same applies to the Cooper version.

Yes, the Mini comes with a 1360cc 8 valve diesel giving 75 bhp, 180nm torque @ 2000rpm. 0-60 in 13.5 sec. and top speed 103 mph. Manufacturers spec says 65+ mpg.

I've not seen one.

They ARE a ton of fun but horrible on mileage. My friend just got an 'S,' she loves it but consistently gets about 21 mpg overall. That little supercharger and sport suspension really have a way to inducing high speeds and hard acceleration. Overall a very fun car.

I can't believe you traded in a Mini - I LOVE those cars!

They're not to be looked at as economy cars by any means. More of a performance handler than anything else.

Oh well, at least you got something that suits your needs in the TDI. Welcome.

Why not have both
. We just picked up a new Cooper S. That's the wifes car, I like having the car with the most torque. But i would have to say that the MINI is fun to drive in the twisties.

My wife wanted a smaller car this spring to replace her Passat. She was really considering a Cooper S, but the consumer reports reliability rating decided against it. We wouldn't have been so concerned about reliability, but we didn't like the closest Mini dealer for service, and the other dealer was quite a drive to get to.

She ended up with a spice red jetta tdi wagon, and loves it so far. Much better room than the mini. My brother has one, and the back seats are miniscule, and the trunk doesn't have much room without folding the rear seats. Fun car to drive, but not much fun on longer trips.

In a perfect world, I would have my Golf TDI, and my wife would have a Mini....But, since I don't have a wife, there is no mini, and I pretty much have to just sorta settle with my Golf.

Actually, I'm just kidding, I love my Golf!

I tried to talk my girlfriend of 5 years into a R32 or Mini. She says the R32 looks too much like a station wagon and the Mini is just funny looking. Funny thing is that she wants a new 2005 Escape Limited 4x4, which I told her was a station wagon, just higer off the ground
