I couldn't get one with ASR so instead I got one with only EDL/EDS. Installed it, works perfectly. Installing was very easy.
This is the one I got 1J0 907 379 Q + 1J0 614 217 E

Thanks for your help!

Ok, I have re-read this thread again. But I'm still unclear about the revisions and I need a confirmation that the parts I found will work.

Posts on page 8 of this thread state the 1C0 907 379 D is the right controller. So that's ok.

This is what Bentley CD says:

1) 1C0 907 379 C/J ABS
2) 1C0 907 379 D/K ABS/EDL/ASR
3) 1C0 907 379 E/G ABS/EDL/ASR/ESP
4) 1C0 907 379 F/H ABS/EDL/ASR/ESP 4MOTION
But the 1J0 614 417 D revision of the ABS pump is the recommended one. Is the 1J0 614 417 C ok?

I picked up the Mk60 today, one concern.
My numbers don't match.
My ABS controller is 1J0 614 417 C
The hydro unit is: 1C0 907 379 D

On the forum above you posted: 1J0 614 417D as the ABS controller part number. Is there a difference between C and D?
ETKA shows is 1J0 614 417 C for all Jetta sedans (00-03) and C for Jetta Wagons within a specific VIN range (00-02), and is 1J0 614 417 D for the other. It also specifies 1C0 907 379 D only for 03s.

Car: 2003 Jetta GL TDI with ABS (no ASR/ESP)

I found this pump:
1J0 614 417 C
with this controller:
1C0 907 379 D

This came out of a 2001 GTI VR6. The controller is stamped "Steuergeraet ASR"

Will this work??

Pictures of the actual unit:

I believe this is the MK60 controller, correct?
The last picture looks like the MK60 shown in the ETKA catalog.

Thanks everyone. Sorry for the large pics. I want to make sure this is right!!

I finally found one 1J0 614 417 A + 1J0 907 379 AF second hand unit, of course. It costs 100 euro's. After I will install it, I will come back with a feedback about all. Hard to locate these Mk20 units.

Yes, that should work fine. It's a MK60 ASR/EDL/ABS unit.
Thank you for the response!

I actually found a different one that's on its way to me, from an '04 Jetta without ESP.

1J0 614 417 D
1C0 907 379 K
Steuergeraet ASR

I will confirm the part numbers when it's installed and provide some install pictures to add to this thread.

I have installed my 1J0 614 417 A + 1J0 907 379 AF second hand unit and it's working. Even the dash light is coming ON when I switch ignition ON. That means that the wiring was already done. Now I have to install only the kill switch. Thank you all for your suport. I also changed the brake fluid with ATE Blue Racing. All job took around one hour.

Can anybody confirm me if the kill switch is latch type or only giving 12 v only when is pushed ? I have bought one and is non-latch type. I have not install it yet, I want to know for sure that is the right one. The P.N. is 1M0927133 56J.

From what I can tell it's a latching type. It ties the wire found under the hood to ground. The latch resets when the car is powered off.

I've never checked really. But it would seem the most logical to me.

The switch is momentary.

FWIW yes, it pulses 12v to the same wire the idiot light goes to. The control unit grounds the wire to turn the light off. I should stick my scope on there someday and see what's going on in detail.

It must send a 12V pulse to the ABS controller, which in turn, removes ground from the idiot light. Kinda a screwy way to go around a simple thing really.

Even using a ground to turn off a light is weird.

Grounding the light to turn if off has a good function: If the control unit is broken or unplugged, the light will turn on :) The ABS, Traction Control, and SRS lights on my 99.5 are like this.

That is why I love this forum! From debates are coming good ideeas. So now I just have to pulse 12 v from fuse 9 to the wire going from pin 15 of ABS unit to pin T32/14 of instrument cluster and...that's it ( wire that it seems that is already there, because the ASR check light is coming on each time I switch ignition ON).

If your car has a can-bus cluster, than the signal for the light goes over that. If its is not can, than it uses the wire.

Most people can get away with installing the ABS pump and the light will work straight off as the ABS controller "talks" to the guage cluster.

My 99.5 needed the wire because it did not have a CAN cluster. I plan on changing that shortly though.

Actually on the later cars I think the warning light is still on its own wire.... at least according to the wiring diagrams Lito posted. It's just not hooked up on the 99.5.

Hmmm, I am not sure now. I'll have to check. When I put the can cluster in the 9.5, I'll remove the wire I ran for the light and see if it will go over can or not.

I know the ABS light goes over can on the later cars.

I do not think that my cluster is CAN type. Here is a scan result of it:
Address 17: Instruments Labels: 1M0-920-xx2-17.lbl
Part No: 1M0 920 801 A
Component: S5-KOMBIINSTR. VDO V02
Coding: 04106
Shop #: WSC 31414
VCID: 234F4F919915

So I think I can connect the switch to the line I have mentioned above.

I took my chance after my previous post and I have connected the kill switch to the line mentioned. I crossed my fingers and I pushed the switch and IS WORKING! The TCS light came on in dash. I push it again and the light was gone. So the diagramm is correct. So now I am the happy owner of a full functioning ABS/TCS system on my car. I want to thank you all for all what is happening on this forum. Good ideas = good things for our beloved cars. Now I will look for an replacement for my wife's Arosa, with Mk30 system. I will check on Skoda Fabia, maybe it can do the trick.

ASR, MSR, EDL, and ESP are transmission agnostic. The engine controller just limits the torque when requested by the ABS when wheel slip is detected (by ABS).

The 1C0907379D is good for a 2003 variant (and any other pq34 with mk60 brakes).

Winter is coming again and I should pick up a ASR unit for the 04 and swap it out before the snow flies. Anyway, does anybody know if I could just buy a MK60 ESP pump and just recode it for ASR?

From what I have read, MK60s are recode-able to whatever you want (ABS, ASR, ESP) so I don't see what I couldn't.

Doesn't look promising as his module didn't want to accept 4097 or 18495. FYI, I use 21505 on my mk60, as it came that way. 18495 worked too and so did 21633 (21505+128 for HD suspension). 21633 was a bit too harsh even though I run Koni reds with stiffer wagon springs.

21505 has an added feature I learned of, MSR (motor speed regulation), if you upshift and the engine braking makes a wheel lock up, it will add fuel to stop the lock up.
