You know, it's funny. I put 76% nitrogen in my tires every single time I fill them up. That's because the air we all breathe, and that our compressors suck in, is 76% Nitrogen. The only way you could get 100% N2 in your tires is if you mounted them in a 100% N2 chamber. If you don't do that, it's ~95% at best, depending on how well they can suck the air out of the tire. Not worth the upcharge.

Also, the sensors aren't in the wheels, so stop complaining about moisture. The ABS sensors in each wheel monitor the rotations of each wheel in comparison to the others, and if one is spinning slower (over-inflated) or faster (under-inflated) it will trigger the light. That's why the MFD shows no info on tire pressures, because it doesn't know. It just knows whether they're the same or not.

So THAT'S why the valve stem on the 2012 is the old-fashioned rubber, and not the solid metal as it is on my 2009. No more sensor on the wheel?

Ding Ding Ding we have a winner! Thats right, so the other guys arguemnt about the moisture effecting the TPS is bogus.

Not one responded stated the contect of N2 in air. At any rate I am not new to the site, have used it since 98 when I bought my first TDI, but based of the responses, I see no value continuing participating in these forums, so no need to respond. Air is 20.9% O2, 1% argon, and 78% N2, balance residuals, and moisture which reduces these depending on its' % content, just for your future references. Bill thanks for you appology.

ok so i estimated the 78% to 80 and another user estimated it @ 76%. so 2% nitrogen makes your case?? dont be a sour puss just b/c we blew your mircale nitrogen theory to hell. there are some real a-holes on here (ive been called one myself, along with niner, 40x40, chris@rev.....ect) we all take it and move on. there is some....alot of good info on here and dont run off just b/c we dont agree with your nitrogen approach. honest question what did it cost to have the nitrogen service performed? ive heard as much as 15.00/tire.
