Touareg headlight wires

I’m having trouble getting harness plug all way on I got it on headlight but won’t slide on all the way on other end. I’ve tried a little Vaseline on rubber boot but still gets stuck. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks for advice, I ended up able to use that spray insulation on wires after separating them from each other.
