Hello TDIers! Does a quote for $2450 (parts and labor) sound reasonable to replace a damaged/worn left front cv axle shaft? price was quoted by dealership outside of Toronto.
2015 Jetta TDi (automatic)
Sounds pretty steep to me. Not a difficult job to do by yourself if you want to save some coin. Some triple squares, probably a 24mm socket for the axle nut, may be 30 or 32mm...need to check it. Hand tools, jack and stands. Look on youtube for the procedure. New OE axles are $400-600 US. Remanufactured are much less.
